by the way the fight sucked

Cowley is correct that questioning creditability in his business is like accusing someone of having an STD. I don't think he is uncreditable. I do think the way he gathers and presents his information makes his conclusions, and ultimately his columns, invalid. That is probably the word Spiegal should use because the facts are solid but the analysis is poor...like telling me water was found on Mars whch proves that there are little green men.

While I don't agree with the media premise of "If they (anyone) refuses to talk, they leave the media to guess as to what is happening" and it seems to be acceptable in all phases of media.

Then work the story from a different angle. Hey, how about a third party who is equally biased for both sides.

and another thing, how dare that Caller Bob say he does things "like a man"...motherfucker broke guy code not only today but several times in the past. KW would be fully justified to knock his block off. I agree with what he says about KW but don't pretend you are mister mensch when you are throwing that shit out to anyone that will listen.

Boy is Cowley an immature jerk. He is the most unprofessional clown in town since Mariotti.
The Sun times really should dump his ass. "The players love me" what a fucking joke.

Cowley absolutely owned Meatpants. Too bad they didn't wager their jobs on the outcome.

Neither one "won" and all the listeners lost. Cowley ranted like a schoolgirl and Spiegel was so condescending that it was a debate in the loosest sense of the word. It was a debate at about a second grade level.

Cowley came out as the winner in my eyes. Speigs was doing the typical passive aggressive "Oh yeah, right...yeahhhh." Cowley was plainly pissed, which I can't blame him.

I liked that Cowley threw in that Rozner/Steve Stone tidbit.

Anyone have more info on the Sirotka part? Where did Speigs get his stuff that "Cowley made it up"?

The ''fight'' wasn't really much of a spectacle.
Both seemed to argue different points the entire segment.
Or at least Joe tried to defend on one Spiegal issue and Spiegal had no rebuttal.
(I'm not saying either were correct btw).
And Spiegal tried to play the dismissive role to everything Cowley said and came off and unintelligible/pompous.
If he really WAS bright, why not argue back instead of "yeah whatever Joe..."?

And Cowley just came off as, well, Cowley.

Spiegel being out of his depth and Cowley being a thin-skinned dickhole are immaterial. The stakes of the argument were unbalanced from the beginning. Spiegel wins by raising any legitimate question, however minor, regarding Cowley's credibility. Cowley wins only by completely and exhaustively answering such questions--which, given the nature of his business, is impossible. Nobody really won, but Cowley definitely lost.

The really funny thing is that this show created more discussion about the Mac show in almost forever and Mac wasn't even there. I think that says something. :)

I agree, it would have cut into Mac's grilling tips time or his rock discussions.

Anyone honestly surprised this happened while "daddy" was away? Spiegel needs to stop getting his dick into bad spots or he's going to get it cut off.

Why? it was far more entertaining than anything the lazy one has done. Mac is just lazy and over-rated.

The Mac section always blows up when Goff is on and today was no different.

Would your own personal hell be sitting at a dinner table with Meatpants, Obama, and an employee asking for a larger car allowance?

Is Cowley seriously trying to defend Ozzie by pointing out someone else's infidelities?? Wow. I've heard it all now.

I know it is uncomfortable and could create a lifelong enemy for Spiegs in this incestualistic sports media town, but Mac or North, don't back down on this one and go balls out in this fight. With this, tey got headlines. Like it or not, it happened.

Replace my employee with you & yea...that would be miserable.

The most interesting thing I noticed upon reflection on this odd throw down was on more than one occasion Cowley name dropped Goff who was for the most part completely on the sideline. In this situation wouldn't you expect him to say something along the lines of "don't involve me in this" or just to flat out refute what was said? I didn't hear him say a word one both occasions I heard Cowley name drop him.
