Play calling sucks. No one fights for extra yardage. The Falcons blow. I'm shocked by this editorial stance.

Where did this appear? That is just crazy talk. Forte's 55 yard TD featured a few great fights through a tackle. Hester fought on his non TD as well.

They are pissed that Hester did not score a TD on that play. That has pretty much been the first 30 minutes of the show. Also, Lovie shouldn't have challenged it.

Mac pissed that Hester didn't "fight harder" for the pylon.

Slowly starting to realize that Mac doesn't really know much about sports outside of jersey numbers and well hung athletes...

They shouldn't dwell on it - but Hester should have scored on that play. There were about 3 different ways he could have gotten that last 1/2 yard.

I'm going to guess this editorial stance doesn't change when Hub comes on in a few minutes.

I agree. It looked like he put more effort into getting Lovie to throw the flag than to hold the ball over the plane of the goalline.

It still a really great run by Hester.

I thought he should have scored too but I was never pissed about it. They demolished one of the media darlings of the NFC and made 'Matty Ice' look like Shane Matthews. All in all a pretty good day for me as a Bears fan.

Sounds like someone had Hester on his FF team.

I wish. Instead I had Colston (stupid calcium-deficient, fumbling little turd) and Nate Kaeding (just kick the ball off and get the hell out of the way next time).

But I'm still gonna win. 8)

Sorry but that Hester play was an obvious TD and it was crystal clear on the replay.

I see why Hester didnt extend the football because someone on defense closed in to his right and could possibly have knocked the ball out his hand. Still a TD though

Yes the Bears won; but there is NO REASON to get excited. The regular season is meaningless--the only game that matters is the Super Bowl.

I swear to God I never saw a 'crystal clear' reply that showed it to be a TD.

Hitting the pylon before going out of bounds was not crystal clear? Did I miss a rule change where that isnt a TD anymore?

His foot hit the pylon, not the ball. Hochuli even said there was no camera angle to clearly see the ball break the plane.

Yeah, you must have missed some sort of rule.

If the BALL itself doesn't cross the plane of the endzone, then you have to have 2 feet in the endzone for it to be a touchdown. Hester didn't get both feet in the endzone, and I couldn't tell if the ball crossed the plane. The call on the field was out of bounds inside the 1, and I saw nothing on the replays where I could have said to myself "yep, that is a TD no doubt." So the refs had to stick with the call on the field which was the right thing to do IMO.

I would say Hester scored, but there was no replay that showed it conclusively, they still got the ball at the 1, but as we seen from the Cowboys, even though you get it at the 1, you still don't score.

I was watching the game with Darkside yesterday, and we both agreed that it was a good challenge...it just seems there wasn't a good camera angle. Given the Bears' history of not being able to score from their own 1, you have to take the risk.

Of course, immediately after the call on the field was upheld, my phone rings, and my dad starts bitching that Lovie is an asshole and he needs to be fired.
