Oh, I'm sorry. I didn't know you were the CFO of those 2 teams. Obviously you must know this to be true then!!

MLB > NBA
This was never a Bulls town, it was a Michael Jordan town

Let's say that hypothetically that the White Sox were to have a $74 million dollar payroll instead of the $113 million dollar payroll they had. They'd actually have an operating income of $65.4 million whereas the Bulls have an operating income of $51.3 million.

Looks to me that the only reason the Sox have a lower net profit is that the salary cap is more restrictive in the NBA.

So, I guess you could say that the Bulls make more money for Jerry, but it's mostly the differences in how players are paid. The White Sox seem to be quite profitable even with a high payroll. Even if Jerry didn't own the Bulls he could easily operate the White Sox the exact same way and maybe even spend more.

Forbes thinks you are wrong on this. In fact, Forbes says that the Sox made $26.4 million in 2010. By the way, for reference, the Cubs made $25.5 million in 2010, which I only bring up to show what a team that is not subsidized by the Bulls is doing.
