I usually rip on the usless fucker but some here think that the Score would suffer if North left one way or another. I'm "Mr. Negative" to some so most of you know how I feel about North. My arguement besides all of the BS he spews is that he is so over paid that it affected the talent pool so much there. Most of these clowns sound like High School and College radio rejects or small town Toledo or Rockfrod types. Maybe I'm picky but its been a hard listen for a long time for me so I dont.

I'm curious how you guys feel.

I believe the station suffers even more if they launch Murphy.
I'm s Sox fan, so I don't always care for what Murph has to say, but he has a n audience -- check his numbers.
On the other hand, check North's numbers and they're not that great.
He's not drawing as much of an audience but he's pulling down a much-larger salary.
He's sapping funds -- and he's taking the life out of the morning slot.
Earlier posters talked about how much North did to bring in advertisers. That might be the case, but I don't see a mass exodus of dollars leaving the station if he was jetisoned.
I think it's worth the risk of the loss of some listeners and SOME advertising revenue.
I think advertisers would love seeing higher ratings, which means the possibility of more revenue in their coffers.

No, they really aren't. They are all amateurs. The station needs a new drive time pro, bring them in from another city. This provincial crap that you have to be from Chicago is nonsense. It all depends on who replaces him. But I don't think they could do worse. They could get a bad host and it would still be better then the horse shit show that is Pappy.

Exactly. As long as they just talk sports and have good interviews and are even remotely prepared for a show. I just don't want to hear Connie Francis, politics, bar stories, sex with wife stories, 5 team parlay, I could go on forever. For me anything would be a huge improvement at this point. I CAN'T listen at all right now and I'd love that to change.

I've got to agree also, they probably couldn't do worse. Tuned in the other morning, Mikey was doing his "rants". This is just plain moron radio. Immediately turned the score off, and was left with no desire to put it back on anytime soon. I also feel that Jesse, Drinky, Larry, or ZZ are NOT good alternatives. Pretty much the same low quality radio. Please, please give us someone professional, not another buffoon.

I can think of 1.7 million reasons the Score would be better off without North (provided management would put that money into new talent).

If management had control over North, I'd be fine with him continuing, but by control, I mean Annie has to go, and all the dumb segments (Fred's movie review, the real estate game) that are non-sports go as well....I wouldn't mind fresh blood with him, maybe somebody (Abattacola did this) who will challenge him from time to time.

I'm with you BD. IMO, North is a pretty solid interviewer (sports only) and often presents a different point of view from everyone else...which can be entertaining. He does need a strong partner & to stick to sports. A few more callers would help as well.

We all know it will probably be Bernsie in some way or another. that would be better but I still wouldnt listen. I dont think Murphs that bad and I could care less if Drinky or Mac like him. His show has callers and SPORTS guests (whatta concept) so the show moves. So if Murph isnt there, they should go outside Chicago and find a stud. Bernstien needs his ass whooped because.......well because.

Anyway shape or form, North has to GO.
