While the Bears continue to shop in the discount aisle for receivers they could have gotten this guy for a discount (based on his likely production) this year. Cutler has been a disappointment but they haven't given him much to work with either.

The decision to trade G.Reg was beyond stupid. The Bears will regret that decision every game this year.

I agree. Having him and Williams on the field at the same time would have provided Jay with 2 big receiving threats.

Yep. Dissapointing.

It was a great year to bargain shop for big WR. The Bears, of course, got the worst of the bunch.

As I wrote in another post, you cannot give Angelo a group of players with similar ability from which to choose. He will always let others make the affirmative choice of a player they want and sit back to let the last guy fall to him.

I'm disappointed in Martz but we can't put all the blame on him. IMO a lot of it has to go to Jay. I missed the game yesterday (I lost my man card) but after watching it last night you can clearly see the difference between Cutler and the 2nd best QB in the NFL. Rodgers doesn't hold onto the ball too long and doesn't get happy feet either. He's had a bad offensive line too. Yes the Bears offensive line has been worse but even when Cutler has time to throw the ball he's still throwing off his back foot or missing guys. It's like he can't see the field or something. Also unlike Rodgers he doesn't try to buy time or make plays with his feet. At some point fans are going to run out of people to blame for Cutler's failure to run the offense.

I'm still at a loss about that...every time he got on the field he performed. Yes, he had a few drops...all receivers have a few drops. He was still an excellent, big bodied receiver who could GET the ball when other receivers can't.

You mean the guy who's been good enough for 1 catch for 5 yards for the Vikings? Keep him.

He has been really good on special teams and has finally started getting on the field during offensive possessions. He only got into yesterday's game when Harvin got sick. He had 2 targets, and the non-catch was because McNabb under threw him by 5 yards. When he is on the field, he performs. When he gets his chance...after he proves he should at least be the number 3 guy, you will see decent numbers.

rasheed Davis was a much better ST guy by far. Aromashodu wasn't a particularly good route runner either. Couldn't be counted on. Not good.

I'm hoping the high end for Aromashodu isn't 'Rashied Davis type special teams player'. However, he is putting in his dues there.

Would you prefer Sam Hurd level ST Player?

That's true as far as it goes, but one thing I noticed the Packers do a lot is have Rodgers roll out; when the pressure comes from one side, he just rolls out, and throws to whatever receiver is on that side of the field. Being allowed to roll out, and having receivers that will make a play in that scenario does a lot to relieve pressure. I think a Cutler is in a scheme that absolutely clashes with his skills; it ;minimizes what he does well, and maximizes his shortcomings. We're trying to hammer a square peg into a round hole (giggity).

The most troubling thing about Cutler is his propensity to air-mail passes. Those over-shots turn into easy interceptions.
