If this is true and they shitcan Ozzie and keep Kenny doesn't that make you think that maybe Ozzie had a bigger say in how this roster was constructed then we were led to believe?

Kenny gave him enough rope and he hung himself.

If that is true then Kenny should still be gone. You do not construct a roster in a way you do not believe in just to appease the manager.

The problem is that Jerry wouldn't let Kenny hire his guy originally. Ozzie wouldn't manage to the team Kenny would want to build.

Let's face it. It's really all Jerry's fault.

So 2 years with the Marlins and then into the broadcast booth for Ozzie? Would help if he worked on his diction a bit. Can't have a color man that requires subtitles to understand 25% of the time. Plus I would expect a lot of FCC violations.

I wouldn't mind Alomar Jr or Mc Ewing

It doesn't sound like they will be getting Morrison. Bob Nightengale says it will be a 'decent prospect'. The Marlins have an average minor league system. Matt Dominguez and Christian Yelich are probably out too. Rob Rassmussen or Jose Ceda would work.

9:18pm: The White Sox could obtain money in the deal instead of or along with a prospect, according to Joe Capozzi of the Palm Beach Post (Twitter link).

Maybe they are throwing in Juan Pierre's world series game jersey.

IMO, managers matter just slightly more than lucky rabbit feet, but man am I glad to see this asshole go. When he first arrived in town, there was a novelty to the "Ozzy says zany thing" story. That wore off years ago, yet somehow the media never tired of it... until everyone abruptly decided to turn on him this year. Whatever, I won't even try to guess what that was all about, I'm just glad this guy and his tired-ass act are gone. Cowley must be crushed.

He gone!

Everyone knew Ozzie would eventually get himself fired but they assumed it would be because of something he said and not because he turned into a bad manager.

Here's another thing that Jerry did much better than Tommy Boy.

Big Mistake by Reinsdorf. Williams should have been tossed for putting this mess together in the first place.

Ozzie (or one of his kids) jumped the gun on the blog. It said he was happy to be a member of the Marlins organization. Since removed.

So what's Ozzies legacy? Will he be remembered for winning a WS and a winning record or will he be remembered for quitting on his team and trying to get fired so he could get to a more desirable job?

I think it has to be the World Series.

It seems pretty clear that the Sox were going to bring him back, but he saw a bunch more money on the table in Florida and started making demands. Oney and Cowley can spin as much as they want. If Ozzie wanted to be here, he still would be.

Kenny's presser was awful. Dude looked so unpreparred and nervous. I think Oz won the battle tonight, "Chicago tough".

No hug for Cooper from Ozzie. In fact, they barely made eye contact after the game. I guess he's staying.

The timing's odd. Any word on an interim manager for the last two games?

Since it doesn't really matter -- I say make Konerko player/manager and let's meatball the hell out of the end of this season!

All of that is now the Miami Marlins problem. Which is cool because of the new stadium. He'll do good things down there. I respect Ozzie as a baseball guy. If I don't have to hear a single thing from his idiot children again, I'll be happy.

Good for Ozzie.....I think the tension between Kenny and Ozzie had reached the point where yet another season together was not something anyone wanted. I believe Ozzie will enjoy managing in the N.L. more than he did in the A.L. I admire Reinsdorf for being big enough to allow Ozzie to walk away and not try to wrangle a player or draft pick from the Marlins. This seems like as good a divorce as it could have been. I believe the Sox let the wrong guy go. With all the bad moves Kenny has made in just the last couple years, it was he that should have been shown the door. But someone had to go and for Ozzie (with the way the roster is littered with bad contracts) this is the best thing that could have happened.
