Let's be honest. Hamp's hate for Obama has nothing to do with politics. We all know what it's about. So, that being said, if Larry knew this of Hamp, would he have agreed to do the short-lived, unpopular, critically hated "Hamp and Holmes Show"?

Danimal is entitled to his opinion. I didn't care for George Bush as a President, but always thought he seemed like a friendly guy. I think Obama also is very approachable considering he is POTUS. I would have been honored to go. Danimal bitching about his family not being invited is weak.
You go from about 50 guys to a group of 200 or so if that's allowed.

Oh come on! How can you accuse someone of something like that when you don't know them?
Is it because he is from the south?
Are all southerners racists?
Did Hampton ever have any racial trouble with any of his black teammates in high school or college?
Has he ever been accused in any racial incidents?
I really don't like Hampton at all, but you are being quite the asshole by saying what you are saying.

If the president invites you to the White House, you go. You're a jackass if you don't go.

It's not just this incident. This sumbitch made a "Katrina" joke while analyzing a god damn football game. That joke could be construed as racist. On each of these issues you could give him the benefit of the doubt. When you combine them it's clear as day.

So he's a Rebublican that doesn't like the democrate in office, right? That's what you want to believe, fish boy? Bullshit. If Billy boy Clinton had invited him to the White House in the 90s he'd have gone. He's a fellow Cracker Arkansas Razorback.

It's an honor to be invited to the White House. Hampton makes time for all of his DUI court appearances. He can't take a day out to do this?

Then he says to let the '85 Bears go. Yeah, that's only cuz he's not getting a check to go to the White House. Wasn't he a part of the 25th reunion thing last year of which he got paid? Why didn't he refuse that?

Same guy who made the emotional "Payton" speech during the salute to #34 some years back.

He only passed because Craig Hodges didn't get him a dashiki in his size.

I'll bet that at least half of the 1985 Bears team doesn't go.

I not sure why any conservative wouldn't want to go visit Bush lite. If a president invited me to the White House I would go regardless of if I agreed with his/her politics.

Oh my God!
I just noticed the pic that the incredibly witty, analytic and intelligent Mr. Beardown posted in his first thread post.
Is that a picture of Dan Hampton actually making physical contact in a non-violent fashion with a black person????
My mind has been blown!!!

Hey, we all have specialized skills. I don't tell you how to bait a hook. You shouldn't tell me how to detect a racist.

I would be respectful. I figure in the next couple decades we'll have a woman president so I had to add a "her" to my post.

In the year 2000 I said to friends and family that Mel Gibson was a racist. I didn't have any proof. Just a hunch. They laughed at me and called me crazy. "How could you say that? It's Mel Gibson."

Keep in mind, this is when Gibson was a media darling, a member of Hollywood's elite, beloved by millions of adoring fans and at the height of his powers in the movie industry. Well, we all heard those tapes a couple of years ago. Needless to say, I was vindicated.

Beardown's line of thinking
'I predicted Mel Gibson to be a racist without any proof.
It turned out I was right.
Now I call Hampton a racist without any proof.
Because I was right about Gibson, I therefore am right about Hampton.'
Don't try baiting any hooks, pal.
I doubt that you are allowed to use sharp objects.

I'm glad that McNeil picked up on Hamps 3rd reason of not going to the WH was because the 85 Bears should move on.

Something tells me that if the WH allowed his wife and kids to go, he would have found a way to complain that they weren't allowing someone else to come as well.

I hope all the 85 Bears who go have a great time and experience. Meanwhile, Hampton can sit at home drinking his some booze and have his principles.
