No, I didn't see the post, but congrats for your nephew. It's always nice to come up big in situations where scouts are gonna be watching. Where does your nephew play? We may be running into a lot of the same ground next spring.

Last I heard Blake's committed to Iowa. The Hawkeyes have come and grabbed a pair of our kids and are looking at a few others from what I've heard.

He plays summer and fall league with the Sparks. He played on the 18U team for a couple tournaments and that one was at Purdue. Hickman was on a team based out of Cincinnati and they were REALLY good. They knocked him around a bit but he did ok. I was proud as hell for him.

After the game he said he couldn't feel his legs and he didn't even remeber facing Hickman. :lol:

Iowa has a really nice field and they are trying to turn their baseball program around. That would be a huge get for them to sign Hickman.

Well playing in that organization at that age group is pretty impressive. While I have my questions about the 15U levels and below (in 2012), the kids at that level all seem to be really high quality. Btw, scratch seeing the same fields next year, my son is only going to be 14-15U next year. But good luck for your nephew, the Sparks always seem to have insight on college openings for talent like him.

Is Wendall Ferguson still with the Sparks? I remember him being clocked at 80+ when he was 12 (3 yrs. ago) and haven't heard much since he started to bounce around.

Wendell and my Nephew have been teammates for the last couple years and are very good friends. Wendell started the summer with the Sparks but he had some pitching problems. Poor kid couldn't throw the ball over the plate. It got so bad that he quit baseball for a while. My sister told me he started playing for a local team but he wasn't pitching.

It's sad because I watched him pitch a bunch of times and he was dominating. I hope he finds it again. Really nice Kid and a great family.
