Why is no one talking about Ian Kennedy from the Diamondbacks for this award? Everyone I read and listen to is talking like Kershaw from the Dodgers is a lock and if not him then Halladay. Kennedy has some damn impressive stats for the year as well.

21-4 2.88 ERA 55 BBs 198 Ks

You can build an argument for a few guys, but what Clayton Kershaw has done in a dark Dodgers' season appears to stand out more. Right now, he's gotta be the leading candidate for the NL Cy Young Award.

Kershaw won the pitching triple crown.

No one whose ever done that hasn't won the Cy Young.

He's a lock.

Oh I agree Kershaw is winning it, I just don't get why Kennedy is not getting any mentions? Dude won 21 games on a team that won their division. Guy deserves some air time at least.

I hear you.

21 wins is at least worth having your name tossed around.

I'm sure he has no problem with that.

Dan Patrick always thought Jamie Moyer, currently at ESPN, threw "salad" when he pitched.

As for Clayton Kershaw, these are his stats for the Dodgers this season:

W 21 L 5 ERA 2.28 IP 233.1 BB 54 K 248

Not too shabby for a lefty earning only $500,000 this season for a Dodgers' team all messed up with the McCourt divorce, payroll issues, filing for bankruptcy and MLB trying to force the sale of one of the most storied franchises in the biz.

Hmm, is that why Moyer has been able to pitch for so long? I always thought he threw baseballs.
