Well, I was having thoughts of ditching the DirecTV when this came out...but after reading this...not so much...

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2011/09/29/bloomberg-xbox-live-set-to-add-for-pay-comcast-and-verizon-cable-programming.aspx

If I'm reading this right, you already have to be subscribing to a cable provider for this to work...

...pointless feature is pointless.

What I'd really like to see is a video equivilent of the Zune Pass that they do for music...monthly rate lets me watch whatever I want from the marketplace...I'd pay a good chunk of change for that.

I'm still content with Comcast's HD Digital Starter package. The only thing I miss is MLB Network. But for the price, it is fantastic.

You could spend an extra $5.99/mo for the sports entertainment package and get it.

You get the Red Zone channel with the sports package as well.

I've watched NHL Network in the past but it isn't a go-to for me. Neither is NBA TV. So no, not really. MLB Network and Red Zone I'd have interest in...but I'm trying to think how much I'd even watch those now.

I don't like paying for things I'm not going to use.

The Eurojet TBE will cost me $1300 plus install. Gotta save a buck or two when possible.

I just took out a second mortgage to put a new set of tail lights on my car.

So if one has a bumble-fuck cable outfit (e.g., Mediacom), then all of this news is completely irrelevant, yes?

(though I still don't think there's anything useful to begin with even if one does in fact qualify)
