Well, Kenny did say that he had a "definitive candidate in mind" when he addressed the media at the end of the White Sox bellyflop that was the 2011 regular season. I don't think this was the one most had in mind...

I'm sure this move will be covered with a real smart bench coach. Kind of like George W's white house years.

He called into CJH and said that he was probably chosen because a lot of his baseball philosophies were likely very similar to Kenny's. I actually thought it was a pretty good point.....I guess a broken watch finds an acorn in a glass house, or something.

Reasons.

1. He's cheap.

2. Jerry loves him and Robin loves Jerry. He'll be a good, loyal soldier.

3. Kenny controls him cuz Robin knows the Sox are the only team that would give him this shot without him serving as a bench coach or Minor league manager for a few years.

4. He's white. Ozzie was beloved by a good portion of Sox fans, but Robin is more beloved when you consider the Sox have a lot of racist fans. This doesn't help ticket sales but it might stop a lot of people from canceling their season tickets. Robin really was a fan favorite when he played here. More so than Big Frank, believe it or not.

Prediction:

1. Frank Thomas will be the hitting coach. Robin and Frank were good friends. Frank is bored of looking at the wife and kids and wants to hit the road again so he can go to strip clubs without the wife knowing.

It's hard not to argue with any of that.

No way. Everyone makes a dumb move here and there. My beef with Ozzie was that he has a dumb offensive philosophy. And he thinks he's right when all the numbers prove him wrong.

oh i am confident that kenny and robin have a very good relationship, kenny was not going to have someone he was not tight with work with him for the next 3 or 4 years. jerry likes kenny and robin, so they should get along well. i think in 2 years you will say that ventura was a good choice.

Screw you. This isn't always the case when Jerry thinks about a hire. We know he's hired minorities. At this point in time race matters. We're coming off 3 bad seasons and the racist fans need to be pacified at this point. Don't think Jerry doesn't realize it. Racist fans spend the same as non racist fans.
