funny you ask; when i saw this headline this morning on the news, i thought they were talking about matt sharp and my heart skipped a beat because the rentals are "back" and had a new album recently.

while i wasn't as into it as i thought i would be, i still heavily recommend "seven more minutes" (released in '99). that record is spectacular and very eclectic. it's a lot better than their self titled debut.

so no, matt sharp is alive.
