I think it was Friday when he was on with Laurence & Terry. It wasn't very eventful. He didn't say anything meaningful or anything to give me too much confidence in him, but I do agree, his answer about Dunn wasn't very good.

If Ventura replied "Yes, I will fix him," you would start this same thread saying something like "how after 1 or 2 days on the job, with zero spring training games, off season roster moves, or without a full coaching staff in place yet can you say you are going to fix a guy who you have only seen swing the bat on TV"

Mockingbird was decent. macbeth, Romeo and Juliet... decent. Chaucer? GOD AWFUL. Just bloody terrible. We read Poe, that was pretty interesting. But on the list of crap was the Hemmingway garbage too.
Yeah, I've read classics in school. I don't think they've enhanced my existence.

I tried reading Great Expectations, but couldn't get through it.

Its a tough go at first but if you stick with it , its pretty good. Darko's opinions nonwithstanding of course.

I tried because of the South Park Parody (which I love, which I'm alone at). But Dickens had no concept of keeping it simple. I had a writing professor in college who was like that and he cited Dickens as one of his influences. Kept trying to get us to "say more say more". Sometimes less can be more.
