Bernstein: Can you fix Adam Dunn?

Ventura: Adam Dunn is going to fix himself.

O rly? What has he been waiting for then?
If you see him as someone who doesn't need massive help then you're already fucking him up.
Maybe if his slump was 12 weeks long... but it was a season marked by a consistant inhalation. He's not fixing himself anytime soon, and if you HOPE he's hunting instead of taking Fred McGriff's Tom Emanski Baseball Training videos then you're already making your first mistake.

When did Bernsie interview him?

I'd say charging the mound on Nolan Ryan was a pretty big mistake.

It was Larry imitating bernsie. You can see how Darkside got confused.

Yeah, I fucked that up because I only had three years of University. Although I read Great Expectations, Macbeth, Tequila Mockingbird, and other classics... I'm still to dum.

The press conference in which Robin Ventura will officially be introduced as the White Sox new manager happens tomorrow. You know "B & B" will have their sound effects hard at work for that...

I think it was Friday when he was on with Laurence & Terry. It wasn't very eventful. He didn't say anything meaningful or anything to give me too much confidence in him, but I do agree, his answer about Dunn wasn't very good.

Was Adam Dunn bad last year because of Ozzie? C'mon Darko. If Ventura replied "Yes, I will fix him," you would start this same thread saying something like "how after 1 or 2 days on the job, with zero spring training games, off season roster moves, or without a full coaching staff in place yet can you say you are going to fix a guy who you have only seen swing the bat on TV"

No, Adam Dunn wasn't bad because of Ozzie and I did not postulate that. In fact, I don't recall mentioning Ozzie at all.
Ventura should not have replied "I will fix him". That also was the wrong answer.

Tequilla Mockingbird sounds like a much better book than To Kill A Mockingbird.

The interview was right out of the box in the 1p hour Friday afternoon. They blew out Connor McKnight's 1p "Scoreboard Update" and the Bob Rohrman Auto Group-sponsored transition with Mac & Spiegs to accommodate the new White Sox manager's chat with Boers & Holmes. You can find the interview on BoersandBernstein.com.

Actually I liked that book. I hated Great Expectations, hated the Great Gatsby, and I can't imagine my life being better for having read that garbage.

I stand corrected. Robin's press conference is scheduled for 11a tomorrow, not in the afternoon.

Great Expectations was fucking awful and is probably responsible for the rise in school shootings over the last several decades.

that's probably why you haven't murdered anyone yet.*
Mockingbird was decent. macbeth, Romeo and Juliet... decent. Chaucer? GOD AWFUL. Just bloody terrible. We read Poe, that was pretty interesting. But on the list of crap was the Hemmingway garbage too.
Yeah, I've read classics in school. I don't think they've enhanced my existence.

*that we know of, that is.

Hemingway is easily in the top 10 of most overrated authors ever.

I would've drank with the guy, but his work sucks.

His books should be called "How to say something in 200 words that could have been said in 5 for dummies".

At least SHARKs subject matter is somewhat interesting.

Wouldn't it be ignorance if we HADN'T read the texts in question and had opinions on them?
Perhaps you have another opinion on the subject matter. I'd like to hear why Great Gatsby was so awesome.

Its a tough go at first but if you stick with it , its pretty good. Darko's opinions nonwithstanding of course.

I tried because of the South Park Parody (which I love, which I'm alone at). But Dickens had no concept of keeping it simple. I had a writing professor in college who was like that and he cited Dickens as one of his influences. Kept trying to get us to "say more say more". Sometimes less can be more.
