My guy Joe Cowley to the rescue!!!

White Sox’ Don Cooper set stage for upheaval that led to Robin Ventura

According to a major-league source, Cooper sidestepped Guillen — and the rest of the coaching staff — in June, going directly to Williams to beg for an extension. Cooper was breaking protocol because Williams had publicly stated two years before that the coaches’ fates were in Guillen’s hands.

What a soap opera. JR should have axed "Kenny". And this Cooper BS doesn't surprise me. He really thinks his shit doesn't stink. JR is losing it allowing this type of situation to continue.

Cooper was the most important piece of the managerial staff during Ozzie's 8 years. He had a greater impact than Ozzie himself.

I guess I missed the part that saved your claim about Cooper and the Royals ??? which is what you said.

Notice all the "We can't talk to him yet" news going on right now?

I don't doubt Cooper talked to Kenny, but he didnt talk to the Royals, no way in hell. You're guy is wrong.

This only speaks to how Kenny tried to undermine Ozzie.

"I was in a little hot water for talking about the Yankees" Cooper just said it

And you think he was actually talking to the Royals about a contract? lol

They wasted the whole last year trying to undermine each other.

2nd reference by Coop talking about being interested in NY and getting in trouble with Reinsdorf.

If he actually talked to KC and got an offer.....he is gone 5 seconds after he told them.

Everything you've said in this thread has been dead wrong so just keep clinging to that because obviously you have nothing else to cling to.

PLUS you're using an example of when a team 'tampered' with him as a reason why a team can't tamper with him.

I don't know why you choose to fight these battles but I'm sure happy you do.

Your source of a "A guy" that Cooper told something to is impecable. lol

Pretty sure the guy I asked on this one has a REALLY good insight.

A lot of what he told me has been proven as being accurate. Why do you still think Coop lied to him about the offer from Kansas City? Is it because of your extreme insight into the inter workings of White Sox baseball (and baseball in general) and every thought and feeling of Jerry Reinsdorf? Or maybe it's simply because you're just talking out of your ass?

Tony Soprano once said "remember when" is the lowest form of conversation. I disagree. It's Cubs v Sox talk.

because you are wrong, that's why.

When you hear about tampering charges and they are made formally, they are usually from pretty small incidents. A Quick conversation, a poorly placed comment by an executive, this is all that is needed to set of a tampering charge.

You however claim that Coop came to Kenny, with the fact he had an offer from another team and Kenny and Jerry didn't do anything about it????

But facts have now shown that when even the slightest hint of the Yankees job was commented on by Coop he got in trouble?

And even now you can't see why there is no way he told them he had an Actual Offer from another team???????????

If you can't see the difference and don't understand that, I suggest you do hire a Lawyer for pretty much anything you ever sign in your life as you have demonstrated the inability to comprehend on a 4th grade level.

When I compare the Sox v Cubs tampering charges, do let me know.

You and 'your guy' has been proven wrong time and time again (and in this very thread) but now you want me to believe you over someone who has been proven as telling me accurate information. Thanks but no thanks.

Like I said, can't help you if you can't see the difference. If you want to keep believing Coop came and dictated his new deal to Kenny, you can, but your are wrong.

I'm just repeating what I was told and after all the stupid shit you've said in this thread the fact that you have the balls to call anyone wrong is absolutely hysterical.

Just so WE get this straight.

You and your guy are right, but the guy who I asked who might work for the Sox and the Lawyer who pointed out legally why you would be wrong, are both wrong, because no other reason than, you said so?

Which you find Hysterical?

The Royals announced the hiring of Dave Eiland as their new pitching coach.

They got their 2nd choice.

There is absolutely no way KC made him an official offer.

I could believe they acquired about his availability. Making an offer at that point would serve absolutely no purpose.

Maybe they did inquire, Coop signaled his interest, and KC responded with some "ballpark" numbers? It would be in Coop's interest to get discussion going with KC--just to gauge his own value on the market, if nothing else.

Yeah I guess so. Rereading the thread it gets a little murky between BigFan and keyser and what they are arguing.

Whatever the case you just have to thank god tragedy was averted and Don Cooper is still with the White Sox and they can continue their dominant pitching.

Kind of like how Ozzie and the Marlins didn't have an official offer either but both sides clearly knew what the other wanted.

It Don Cooper was available, the only MLB team that would not be interested are the Cardinals.

Thats a silly thing to say.

What could possibly lead you to say that?

See this is what Im talking about. Now If I take exception to a completely ridiculous comment like this, am I bashing the Sox?
