I really think the Brewers have a good shot to win this whole thing, but their starters have to pitch better. Going to the pen in the 4th and 5th innings isn't the formula to win in the postseason. They have a good offense but if they pitch like that against Texas (should they happen to win vs the Tigers), it could be over real quick for the Brew Crew.

Braun and Fielder are just killing it in their shot at the bigtime. Gotta respect that. Stars being stars.

Marcum looks worthless, Greinke is shaky at best, and Axford looks vulnerable.

I think its the Rangers year. Not sure the Brewers will get past the Cards.

For some reason I could see the Cardinals beating the Rangers but not the Brewers (La Russa factor I guess.)

Don't forget, a big factor for the Brewers should they beat the Cards is that they have homefield. They seem to lose like 3 times a month at Miller park.

Obviously I don't want the series to come back to Milwaukee, but if the Cardinals are up 3-2, we're headed to game 6. Don't think I could handle being there to see the Brewers advancing to the WS.

I'm gonna have the same attitude now that I did when the Cards won game two in Philly...no longer do they need to win all three at home...they've proven they can go into Milwaukee in the postseason and win...

...not that I wouldn't rather they seal the deal with the next three, mind you.

Eggs Ackley. My confidence is building. Their offense is peaking at the right time. And as we all know, when you peak, you win.

Do the umpires ever check the weather report? Why would they delay a game for a few hours but then start it knowing it was going to start raining 30 minutes later?

I might be wrong, but I believe it's up to the home team until the game actually starts, then it's up to the umpires...??

I know thats the deal in the minor leagues but never researched if it applies to the majors too. It may be because I think the Yankees purposely burned Verlander in game one of the wild card series.

Damn good point dude. Damn good point.
I checked major league rules.

Quote:
4.01
Unless the home club shall have given previous notice that the game has been postponed or will be delayed in starting, the umpire, or umpires, shall enter the playing field five minutes before the hour set for the game to begin and proceed directly to home base where they shall be met by the managers of the opposing teams. In sequence --

Quote:
4.01

(d) As soon as the home team’s batting order is handed to the umpire-in-chief the umpires are in charge of the playing field and from that moment they shall have sole authority to determine when a game shall be called, suspended or resumed on account of weather or the condition of the playing field.

Very interesting.

I'm noticing a trend here...

Cardinals batter comes to plate...announcer comments on batter having success against Gallardo this year...play video of said batter going yard...

...repeat...
