I don't think I'll care if the White Sox never win the World Series again. I saw it once, and it would only be a bonus after that. The same goes for the Bulls.

I do hope that the Cubs and Bears do it in my lifetime as it would be cool to see the four major Chicago sports teams all do it. I was 3 when the Bears became Titletown, USA for a year.

Don't take this as I am willing to accept mediocrity from either but it just doesn't feel the same. I think I'll always be spoiled by the Bulls title runs in the 90's.

I feel the same about the Wolves.

I assume you were also around for the Hawks. Hockey fan or not, it was very fun to experience.

I was, but I'm talking about the major teams in the city. It was really fun though. I was really happy for my dad who stuck with them through the down decades.

The way the White Sox are run as an organization reminds me of food poisoning.
If they aren't puking, they have the runs.

Which people? He was talking about winning, and I noticed he'd missed a team. If someone brought up the Wolves, or Fire or whatever it was, the Hawks surely belong in the conversation.

I agree with you, Bob.
I'll still be excited for Spring Training and Opening Day though 8)

You are right cookie. The Hawks belong in the conversation with the Fire and Wolves-- teams nobody cares about.

Frank, I wait with anticipation to see the player moves Bad Ass Kenny makes this Winter, too.
Opening Day can wait for Kenny's Hot Stove Moves.
This could get interesting.
When Kenny acquires young pitching and younger players...it tends to work....so why he goes Sybil and screams about Championships and then trades for and signs Veteran STIFFS, I can't figure out.

I had always pictured you as about the same age as me, Rick. Smartass yutes! :P

Even as a White Sox fan, I'd still like to see the Cubs win it once, just to shut up all the jinx and curses and all that garbage. And it would be a pretty damn big deal, an event of epic proportions.

Relax, be patient. you've got another good fifteen, maybe twenty years to worry about these things coming to fruition.

Translation: The Whitesox are a joke and if the Cubs somehow win a WS with Theo, then I need to have a back up plan for saying it doesn't matter cuz Whitesox did it first.

Whitesox "fans" crack me up. What a bunch of jagbags.

No. It matters greatly. It would be one of the coolest stories in sports history. I'd love to see it.

You lose. I win. Go Cubs!

I like how you put fans in quotes. Who knows what they are

Rick has never been a Cub basher and has even said he roots for both teams but like you, I suspect he's just being a jagbag.

One of the strangest sports moments of my life was when I both celebrated and was sad about the Bartman playoff series.

The Sox winning in 2005 took out my big concern that Cub fans like Juiced and bigfan would hold it over me like I'm a second class citizen. I'd be happy for my Cub fan friends and the couple Cub fans I like on the board.

I'd also like to see the Mets win. I think I'm just going to pick 4 or 5 teams to root for in each sport.

OH NO! Lol, I'm no hockey person. But they are Chicago's team, so I followed it (as well as someone who knows nothing about hockey can) cheered them on, and enjoyed the championship.

I'm confused by Rick's stance here. I can relate to the whole being spoiled by the 90's Bulls thing, but why would it not matter much if the Sox or Bulls never win again? I'm with Tom Brady on this issue, your favorite title should be the next one. That's what it's all about. You'd understand if you rooted for Titletown maybe...

Because of your love for Kyle Orton ;) and the fact that you are a SOX "fan".

We don't want you on our bandwagon. Obama might follow you.
