Fair enough on the point about Phoenix and Vinny.

But Vinny and Ventura both have no coaching experience. Neither one were considered seriously by any other organziation. The talk immediately in both situations was the need to put experienced bench coaches around them in order to help them succeed. It did not work for Vinny and I doubt it works for Ventura.

The Bulls could have hired Thibs in the first place, but went through the debacle of Vinny.

The Sox could have hired Martinez or Alomar, but instead have hitched their wagon to Ventura.
