Really dude? You got hurt (which happens), then came back probably too early and sucked because of it and you felt dissed? This was about winning football games, not about making you feel warm and fuzzy.

Quote:
Benched, then later placed on the inactive list for the club's win Sunday over the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears safety Chris Harris has requested a trade with hopes the club can move him by the Tuesday trade deadline.

"I requested a trade, I sure did," Harris said. "I don't know if I'll be traded or not. I've definitely requested one, and the trade deadline is tomorrow, so that's a very small window of time, so it's not to say anything is going to be done.

"Decisions are made, and they're not made emotionally. They're made from a business standpoint, and I get that. I understand that. I don't have any beef with the coaching staff. I don't think they have any beef with me. I just think they felt they needed a change, and obviously I wasn't part of that change."

When a player says they don't have any beef with the coaching staff, that means they definitely have beef with the coaching staff.

Can't say I blame him. How many times can an organization spit in your face. They benched him even though he was clearly not healthy. It would have been better for them to say that.

So, if he's not healthy... they shouldn't bench him?

They should but I think they owe it to him to say that's the reason why they're doing it publicly.

Bears could probably get a 29th rounder in 2025 for him.

I disagree. Harris said he was healthy enough to play. Its clear that he wasn't. I give him credit for trying to help the team out, but he was not ready to play.

He played like shit because either he lied and was not healthy or he was healthy and just played like shit. Either way I got no problem with sitting him. Some fans are acting like he is the best player on the defense. He is a mediocre safety that can be replaced.

The Bears would be lucky to get a 24 pack of Coke Zero, let alone a low round draft pick for Chris Harris.

Similar to when someone says "I'm not racist, but..", you know they are about to say the most racist thing you've heard that week.

Harris is mediocre when healthy. Trade him now for a bag of balls.

Wasn't Harris the guy several of you were bitching about a couple years ago because the Bears traded him? Now you want them to trade him again?

Eh. They wouldn't have gotten much anyway. Better to have a vet on the bench. Maybe they'll force him into some special teams work...

No not at all. I never thought he was that valuable. That is why I did not understand about people continually bitching about the Bears trading him the first time.

By now you understand that people have to have something to bitch about even if it contradicts the last thing they bitched about.

Situation well read, SHARK.
I don't think they could have had a seventh round pick for him. First of all, there would have to be some interest from another team. Assuming there was, you'd think it would have to be interest only as a backup, and certainly not as a long term deal. OK, now that we've established that, what is Harris's value over Joe Blow off some practice squad? Equivalent to a seventh round pick? Would you really like to go into next year's draft having some "sleepers" that you've identified that now you have to hope you can grab in the undrafted free agency period all to ensure that you had first dibs on Harris?
Best case scenario, Bears drop Harris and you get to pick him up. Worst case scenario, you sign Jimmy Joe from the practice squad somewhere for the rest of the year and grab Harris in the offseason if you are so enamored. Probably by then you'll be looking at other FAs or in the draft to fill the need.
Meanwhile you have dopes calling in B&B and other dope-friendly shows that say, "Why don't they trade him to Jacksonville/Tennessee/Seattle?" You stupid dopes, they would if they could, but the other team isn't buying and for good reason. So annoying. If you are decent or have a track record of being elite like a Carson Palmer, your argument for a trade holds a little more water. But when you are a Chris Harris -- c'mon, man!
