As some of you may know.....most of ya probably don't

Tomorrow will be the first time (and possibly the last) I will be co-hosting on the Score. I invite all to listen and critique (sp?) good and bad of how I did. Tomorrow for sure we'll talk Sox/Cubs/Billy Donovan/Bulls/and maybe some NFL Draft.

This could be the only time I may make the air.........who knows?

I would appreciate everyone's comments and your time tomorrow morning while Mike, Fred, and myself are doing what we enjoy.

I'll give you a listen tomorrow Rock. This will be my first extended listen since Drinky was with Pappy. If you suck I don't think anybody should give you a hard time. But I will give you a critique since you asked.

a.) It's your first time.

b.) You have a major handicap working with Pappy.

Predictions - Rock will try to take a fun shot at Pappy. Pappy won't take it well and beat Rock into the ground with a stupid comeback. Pappy can dish it but can't take it well. Especially from a cohost. Don't back down Rock. Everybody here will appreciate it. Fred will console Pappy if you're harsh to him.

Good luck Rock, hopefuly North will allow you to speak long enough to get your points across

North seems to have some hard-line rule against any interruption. Recently he came down unpleasantly on the simpleton Jen, "Well, that's the second time you've interrupted me today. Let's see if this one's worth listening to".

I wonder if Rock would tell us if North prepped him on that.

Right. North will make some meatball statement. Usually it goes without comment from Annie or Fred. Annie doesn't know sports to know it's a meat ball statement. Or Fred just agrees. But Rock might call him on it and Pappy won't like it.

But Rock said this will probably be his first and last time hosting. Even if it's not Pappy is eventualy gone. So, what the hell Rock, you don't have to kiss his ass. He has no clout at the station any more.

I don't think you have to worry there. I don't see a lot of people holding their tongues and practicing restraint here, especially in this forum.

It was hard to hear Rock over the loudmouth North. You would think Fred would let Rock have some of his air time, but the chubby, movie watching, popcorn eating, murphy sidekick has been wouldn't shut the fuck up.

Positive: I liked it when you flipped the conversation onto you when Mike was throwing out a stat.

Negetive: North and Fred dominated the conversations and because you are not blonde haired blue eyed with a nice ass you have to find other ways for North to get you involved in the conversation.

Great Job. Hope to hear more from you and Jen and less from Annie and Fred.

Just saw this thread for the first time, so I turned on 670 just now. Might be a bit late, but I wish you the best of luck... at least hope you had a fun time.

So far in two minutes, I haven't heard Rock speak yet though.

i'm sure rock is a nice kid, but he has little chance of making it as an on air personality. if he is lucky, after north is gone rock can probably work in rockford as a producer and make $27K/yr

I was just gonna echo some of these thoughts. I didn't start listening until 8am and Pappy was dominating the conversation as predicted. So, tough to critique you Rock. Every time you had a thought Pappy would jump in with his dumb thoughts and speak until the commercial.

But thanks for giving me a reminder of how bad the show is. I liked Pappy interviewing Razor Shines. You could hear Pappy thinking of questions on the fly. "Do you ever disagree with Ozzie's call and not give the sign?" My God. Unprepared meathead.

It sucks that Fred was there. It would be much easier to critique if you had gotten to talk as much as him.

I think you did a good job with your limited touches but you really weren't given a chance. It would be nice to hear some of the guys at the score get more of an opportunity.

I can only reiterate what others have said. North and Fred didn't give Rock much of a chance to speak, but he sounded good with what little opportunity he had. I'd be interested in hearing more on the weekends. A pairing with Paruch or drinky might be interesting.
