What are wrong with them? A majority of 'experts' were very skeptical of Newton.

Trying to equal questions about Newton to those of Tebow is quite laughable.
I thought accuracy was the main issue with Newton. Technique wasn't questioned as much compared to Tebow.

Also, Newton's athleticism is superior to Tebow's.
He's a lot harder to bring down.

Absolutely. And please don't label me a Tebow defender. Just further continuing the discussion.

Very good, but you missed Boller, & Kevin Kolb is getting close.

There are dozens of light armed QB's who have had successful NFL careers. Off the top of my head, Montana, McMahon, Palmer, Hasselbeck, Flutie, Kosar & Pennington. The current crop of QB's with below average arm strength includes McCoy, Sanchez, Orton, Dalton, Bradford, Smith, & Ponder.

I'll get to the unconventional deliveries tomorrow.

Miami is the worst team in football by the way.

The only thing he seems able to do is run a chaotic 2 minute drill where there is no structure or plan to anything. The other 58 minutes of football when there is structure and a plan he is terrible. You can not beat the good teams in the NFL consistently like that.

Except Tebow doesn't turn the ball over & he wins games. Other than that, yea, I guess hes VY.

Didnt he fumble in the game in question? His only game as a starter ever?

So 1 game 1 turnover = doesnt turn the ball over and wins games

gotcha.

You do realize Vince Young was good in the NFL for a short time right?

and Spanky, just becuase Tebow's beating up of the security guard went unfilmed doesnt mean its right.

I'm not sure Tebow is better than any of those guys except Boller. He looked worse than all of them except Boller for the first 56 minutes of the game.

It made a lot of sense that Tebow got the start for Denver. They need to determine exactly what they have in Tebow, sooner rather than later. The guy has been a winner everywhere he has gone, lets see how he does at this level. Many experts are critical of this mechanics, yet Tony Dungy thinks his mechanics are not a problem and is a big supporter of Tebow. I think it's far too early to make any real judgement on him yet. I think the Broncos should give him the rest of the season to show what he's capable of and we should have a pretty good idea of his value as a QB at that time. The one thing that concerns me though, is the risk of injury he exposes himself to. Just like Vick, he risks injury more than an average QB, because of the number of times he runs the ball. In any case, the guy gave Bronco fans a ray of hope (even if it was against a bad team- he won the game) in a season that had been filled with disappointment till now. Shoutout supported.

Thanks?
Scorehead -- thanks for your answers.
It's just one game -- but I penciled this one in as a win -- when Tebow was named the starter two weeks ago.
I know -- who care's about style points, a win is a win.
Plain and simple -- Tebow has to play much, much better next week. The guy had a 20 passer rating after three quarters -- against arguably the worst team in the NFL. Maybe Hub was right about Tebow being the fourth QB in the preseason -- Tebow was certainly playing like it.
Were there reports that Tebow made his way back up the ladder with quality performances in practice? I don't remember any word about it.
Fox chose Tebow -- to get the fans off his back.
Also, let's look at why the Broncos won the game.
Miami's poor hands team.
Denver's defense creates a turnover.
Tebow doesn't move the offense 1 yard -- and the kicker boots a 52-yarder.
I think it's a stretch to say that Tebow "won" the game for Denver.
Let's just see how the rest of the year plays out. Mabye Denver plays its way back into the "Suck for Luck" sweepstakes.

None of the names listed seem to be more willing to run the ball than pass it -- like Tebow.
Tebow is appears to be a more-physical version of Eric Crouch.
I agree with Berns, Tim Tebow would make a quality TE for some team.
This isn't about arm strength. It's about accuracy. Tebow has neither at this point.

tebow is too short to play tight end, he would make a good fullback and on occasion take a snap directly on a run/pass option play...he throws a very ugly ball and has no chance to play qb in this league as a starter

I genuinely hope that he develops into a perennial pro bowl QB. Not because I have particularly like him, but I'd thoroughly enjoy the amount of heads that would explode to admit he's good.

i think people confuse not thinking someone has enough talent with being a "hater"...i have no idea if tebow is a good/bad guy and don't really care...he is an awful passer by nfl standards..vince young was never good..his team winning does not equate to having a good qb...tebow played like shit yesterday and his team won...wrecks grossman and vince young have decent records as starters also and neither are any good.

the fact that he is currently starting QB for the Denver Broncos indicates otherwise.

The most intriguing scenario is that Urban Meyer takes over the Dolphins & acquires Tebow as his QB.
As a guy who prefers the college game over the pros due in part to the diversity of offensive styles in NCAA football, this would be great for the NFL in my opinion, & would certainly be great for Tebows NFL career.

does it really need to be said again how typically bad coaches are in the NFL that had successful programs in college? they're two completely different styles. and NFL defenses are 100 times faster than college.

There is no curse or magical power that says that college head football coaches cant be successfuL in the NFL.
Some guys succeed, & some don't.

There is no doubt in my mind that Urban Meyer is a better head football coach than Tony Sporano & Jim Caldwell.

Signed, Jim Harbaugh

Scorehead is easily impressed

Tebow plays terrible including a fumble and wins= This guy just wins and doesnt turn the ball over.

Jim Harbaugh starts off 5-1= Harbaugh is a great head coach who always has his team prepared.

Does anyone really think elite skill position players would want to play on a team with Tebow firmly cemented as QB? These guys want to win, but they also want their stats and they want their money. I don't think guys are going to enjoy sharing 4 catches and 38 yards through 3 and a half quarters of a game.

This!!! As much as I can't stand the religion and sports crap that follows Tebow by his own design, I am getting even more disgusted by the haters. It'd be better to ignore him and let him go away. I think most would agree that he deserves his shot in the NFL, that he will probably fail, and then we can move onto the next great college player who can't play in the NFL.

As for the Cam Newton stuff in this thread, I would have bet he flopped too. But he has been great, especially for a rookie.

It's easy to follow the crowd & go along with the popular opinion that "TEBOW SUCKS".
I prefer to form my own opinions.
Like all of us, something I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong.
No big deal. Our opinions on these matters don't really matter much anyway.
