For my combined Christmas/Birthday gift,I wanted to upgrade my secondary TV to a bigger LED set. I wasn't about to spend a huge amount of money. I found a Westinghouse LED 46 inch TV advertised at Walmart for an amazing $559.00. About half the price of any other 46"LED set. I went to two different Walmarts, but could not find it. I went to Best Buy. They had the same set for 100 bucks more. I knew it was the same model # because I had checked online. Best Buy matched the price and knocked off another 5% because I got a Best Buy credit card.
So final price was like 525 + a 4 year warranty for 94 dollars + tax. It came to 667.00.
I already had a smaller Westinghouse and thought it had a great picture. This 46I set looks fantastic. The color is very vivid and BluRays look fantastic along with regular DVD's. I don't know what the other companies are selling you for an extra 500 bucks, but the picture quality can't be that much better.

My RCA LED, 26", was under 240. Best TV I've ever had.

First off My dear amigo Jimmy, do not even think of buying an LED tv that doesn't feature a dynamic contrast ratio at or above 1,000,000 to 1. Unfortunately for your wallet, these are the tvs generally around $1,000 or more... If you start pricing tvs at various stores, always always always look at the dynamic contrast ratio first. The picture is just plain better compared to a DCR of say 250,000 to 1.

Once you know the size and type (LED, lcd, plasma) you want, IMO, the DCR is the next most important thing.

Also make sure your refresh rate is above 120hhz if you want to watch sports properly...

Right, because there is so much content available that is sourced above 120Hz

I don't work at best buy or anything. Just dropping a few cents...

Fair enough...didn't mean to jump down your throat...just don't buy into the absurd refresh rate hype.

It's cool. Though I can see the difference in jump from 60 to 120hz... Not so much 120 to 240hz...

Agree on the DCR. Have oe that is above the 1Mil mark, 1 below. You get spoiled easily with these.

Either way nothing (that I know of anyways, outside of a PC) is sourced abvoe 60Hz, but I agree with your assessment...

120Hz is very nice if you watch a lot of Blu-Rays...24FPS film plays much better on a 120Hz versus a 60Hz...

It has 120MH BUT 100,000 to 1 Contrast Ratio. Whatever it has the picture looks pretty damn good! It also has Edge-lit technology instead of back-lit but for the price,it's a steal.

My wife said that's our combined birthday/Christmas gift. It beats the hell out of 3 golf shirts and a Cubs hat.

Wait 1 Month for the black friday sales. Prices of TV's are expected to plummet this Christmas season.
