Last nights show was one of the most entertaining shows on the Score (overall) in a while. Right mix of humor and sports. That cat they talked to from Oakland about the NBA was crazy as hell. Dude wouldn't stop talking about reality shows and Jason kept trying to steer him back to NBA Labor talk. Good stuff...


I like Matt's idea inspired by Herb Lawrence. You can say anything you want as along as "....for me" is added to the end.

I would listen to Drinky and Goff if they had a show in this time slot. They can keep the Ask Herb segment, though. There we some chuckle-worthy moments, but Goff was laughing hysterically at just about everything Herb said and most of it just wasn't funny. Maybe it has to do with Goff and Herb being friends and being in the studio together so it's funny to him, but I would have rather have heard much less of Herb and more of Matt and Jason.

Matt put his foot down on the Crane Kenney bashing, so we'll see if Bernsie listens or if Matt tells him to stuff a sock in it next time he starts up with it.

I enjoyed what I heard of this last night and I agree, they did sound like they were having fun and genuinely enjoying themselves all night. I'm upset there's only two more days of it. They would be good together in a show.

I agree it was good and Ask Herb was terrible. Herb is good when Laurence is speaking for him...and he's not THAT wise or funny. Its fine when Laurence does it.


The Oakland guy said "does that make sense?" like 3 times. Its a pussy's way of expressing an opinion. Also he kept talking over their questions. Like he'd stop wait for question 2 and when Matt or Goff were half way in he'd continue answering the first.

So Larry does this "Ask Herb" bullshit too? C'mon. We don't need to make every producer a star. There is a reason they are producers. Herb should not be heard by anyone. It's embarrassing to him and insulting to the listeners. Just cuz you say foul and disgusting things doesn't mean you're funny. Herb and Goff don't understand this. Then again, Goff might feel that he needs to play the black Ed McMahon to Herb's black Johny Carson to help him out. This doesn't work Goff. People don't like "Bad". Nobody is influenced by your fake laughter.

They got me again today. I actually feel an obligation to listen. I think Chicago looks to me to review the "Drinky and Goff" reunion shows.

Plus no World Series again tonight. So drink and Goff probably have had a bigger audience the last 2 days because of that. It's big time pressure. Can they handle it?

No. Of course they're gonna replay Theo. He's the news of the day and the Score got him. A lot of people listening now missed it on M&H. I haven't heard it.

This is a fine decision by drinky and Goff. It's also a no brainer decision. Can't knock them for this one.

I've found the Theo Epstein coverage, and coverage of the Theo Epstein coverage, far more intolerable and bad on this board.

Goff started it out by saying he hates black women talking loud on the phone while he rides the bus. Then a black guy called in to hate on Goff for hating black women. Then it kind of got uncomfortable. Goff took an evil tone. The caller said something. Goff cut him off. Anybody catch what the caller said? I couldn't understand it. They were talking over each other.

Drinky is begging people to email Mitch and tell him that you want more "Drinky and Goff". That's kind of desperate and small time.

Mitch is too busy machinating Larry Holmes' takeover of Chicago area media to care about drinky and Jason Johnny George Goffman.

A caller got on and said how much he loves "The drinky and Goff Show" and how wants more of it. Drinky began his email Mitch campaign at that point.

Goff said something like "You'll have to catch me in Miami." What does that mean? Is that some inside joke that doesn't mean anything? Or does Goff have an offer to take his talents to South Beach?

I will say this. Goff does make me laugh sometimes. There are two Jason Goff's on the air. There's the "happy broadcaster Goff" where he tries to do everything proper and by the broadcasting book. Then there are those moments where he forgets he's on the air and becomes evil Goff.

Like when he was yelling at the black caller for hating him for hating on black women. He got evil. He got me to laugh. That's the thing about Jason. His funniest moments are when he's not trying to be funny.

I guess If you didn't hear it you couldn't get why it was so funny. It was the set up that made it hilarious. Goff is all happy and says "Anything you want to hate on is fine with us. We'll allow anything 312-644-6767..." So this guy takes advantage of Goff's offer, hates on Goff and Goff gets his dander up in a heart beat. He went from happy Goff to evil Goff in a heart beat. Goff could have just taken it in stride. It think the caller was just funnin' around for the spirit of the segment. Just trying to get the host for fun. It was no big deal. It's what the damn radio bit is about for the love of God. Goff invited it. That's what I mean about Goff forgeting he's on the radio. He forgot his own radio bit while he was doing his radio bit.
