Besides the 2 blown saves last night, the rain out game was a killer. No rain comes, and the Rangers get fucked into seeing Carpenter again. Cards have had 2 shitty teams win the WS in the last few years, unreal.

Not true.

2002 was the last year of home field being determined by alternating leagues.

The AL had home field that year.

Alternate from 2003 and this would've been the NL year for home field.

The Cardinals got it done, I give them credit - and they can go fuck themselves.

The Cardinals run to a championship greatest in the history of MLB. It just is.

What they did from August 25th (down 10.5) through the post season was amazing.

Did you catch LaRussa's postgame comment about the turning point for the Cards' season...he said it was when they were down 1-0 against the Cubs on Sep 24 and they came back to win in the bottom of the 9th (against Marmol). Nice.

That's a fact too. Quade mismanaged that game and gave the Cards life.

I'd debate that fact. Quade made the right move, luck just bit them in the ass.

Is dementia setting in, Reason? I'm not whistler. In fact, I asked you who he was and you told me. I took your word for it and I may even have repeated it. Apparently, your mult hunting skills are no better than spmack's.

Anyway, a great World Series even if the dirty birds won it. And seeing Nolan Ryan cry was at least some consolation.

Congrats to the Cardinals, my second most hated baseball team outside of the Yankees. They showed how not to give up thats for sure.

The shot of him after STL tied it the second time at 9 was awesome. He was literally rocking back and forth with his thumb to his mouth like a scared baby or mental patient. If there is a GifGod someone will make one.

He knew right then it was over. Fuck that hillbilly, he probably took roids a long time before the era.

Who is Whistler? I havent cared and I dont want to take the case so please someone other than SPmack, who is Whistler and what is your evidence

BadRogue those are some bad teams to hate. Ive always considered the Cardinals the Yankees of the NL.

I understand though. I hate the Cardinals too. The cubs being so bad and not even close to any of that makes it easier. As the Cubs get better and there games become more imporant my hatred of the Cardinals is inflamed.

Anyway best sport, best postseason. Baseball is king.

Well part of it is obviously based in envy as they are the 2 most succesful baseball teams, and in the Cards case is your hometowns team greatest rival, you get where Im coming from.

Around 03-04 at the height of my Cub fan insanity, if I saw a Cardinal crossing the street I would have tried to hit them.

:) I think it the 82 series that started me off on Cardinal hate, I really liked that Brewers team.

Jack Clark was real easy to hate.

Once LaRussa got their the hate became even more natural.

Rosenbloom was saying this morning that there was a guy who placed a bet at the MGM in Vegas on Sept 15 when the Cardinals were 5 games out of the wildcard. Put 250$ on them to win the pennant at 500 -1 and another 250$ on them to win the series at 999-1. Needless to say, he's 375k wealthier today.

Ya know Whistler this has never bothered me. I dont care if ex cubs win. I dont root for or against them. I guess I was ok with Grace getting his ring after a long career but Id feel that way about a non cub too.

What would you say if I told you a CSFMBer made the Series bet?

He could give him noogies like a third grader maybe. The stupid headlock has entered into the ridiculous legend that Ryan somehow kicked Ventura's ass. It's a nice story for the old fellow, but not really true. What rarely gets reported is how much respect Ventura received for charging that douche. It was something many guys wanted to do many times.
