Don't think Tagliabue was the worst ever. If fact, I think he was a very good commish.

Or Bud Selig.

In truth, football has probably had the best group of comissioners out of the "major"sports

another outlandish argument simply to be a contrarian. trying to get a reaction because of the solid reputation of Tagliabue and the huge success of the NFL.

the best part...Fred agreed with him, of course.

I can't recall for sure, but I think it goes kind of like North's. The level of play in the league stinks, everyone is average, and anyone could have done what he did.

Yes, the USFL is proof of that.

That's the arguement I keep hearing. It seems like Tagliabue is unable to get any credit for the success the league had during his tenure. The new commish is disciplining players a lot more harshly, and that's obviously a good thing, and I'm really happy the Players Union isn't fighting them like they would be in MLB.

The NFL is far and away the most successful professional sports league in America (besides maybe NASCAR  ). And this surge has taken place mainly in the past 20-25 years in my opinion. I don't think it's an accident or luck.

Neither do I, but don't tell North or others that.

There hasn't been a major work stoppage in the NFL in the past twenty years, unlike in baseball, basketball or hockey. I think Tagliabue deserves some credit for that.

My vote for The Worst is: WSCR's very own Paul Agase.

All kinds of businesses are wildly successful like the NFL with bad management.

Wait.

I'll think of one.

I guess not.

How could we forget?

Isiah Thomas. Trashed the CBA. Guessing hes the all-time worst.

Vince McMahon. The XFL went nowhere, but he's still got wrestling. Dunno what his title was though.

Honorable Mentions:
WHA, ABA,& USFL, whoever their commisioners were.
