I have a really sneaking suspicion the Bears and Eagles are going to be fighting it out for the last playoff spot at the end of the year. The Bears already have one up on the other top two contenders, Falcons and Bucs. I just have very bad images of Jackson coming out of his funk in this game.

I think so, too. The Bears have to keep collecting tie-breakers. This year there looks to be a knot of teams at 9-7 with the Bears probably one of them. Hopefully, New Orleans rights itself and does win that division. They got shaky recently for some reason.

If the Bears are to split the next two, Philly is the game they need most.

Looking at things a little more, I think the Eagles have a great chance of winning the division. Look for the Giants to tank the second half of the season with an absolutely brutal schedule.

Was getting ready to point out the division will be won by the Eagles. I can't recall if I posted it or if someone else did earlier in the season but there is a great chance the North has 3 playoff teams.

I wouldn't be certain of that. The Giants will start running better and Cruz is great opposite Nicks. The Giants have the talent on both sides of the ball to win 11 or 12 games this year. Detroit and Chicago look like pretty inconsistent teams(just like all the NFC playoff hopefuls). The Eagles have the talent to finish 12-4 but they also need to keep Vick upright and their line problems on both sides of the ball will get more exposed as the weather gets colder.

You appear to be overly optimistic about the Giants. Bears don't have a tough schedule the rest of the way. I would be surprised if they lost more than 2 games. That Week 16 Packers game will be so meaningless for the Packers that Rodgers won't play more than the first half.

I keep hearing Bear fans say that about the week 16 matchup. I really doubt it unfolds the way you and others hope. Those games are always competitive and the teams always try to win. That will likely be a Bear loss, even if Rodgers only plays a half.

I'm not overly optimistic about the Giants, I don't even like them. Just realistic. They are 5-2 against Philly's 3-4 record for a reason. Philly certainly can make up two games, and does have an easier schedule, but there's nothing saying the Giants wont adopt Pitt's game plan and beat New England this week. Ross can shadow Welker and Cruz, Manningham, and Nicks should have a field day against that terrible secondary. It'll depend on Eli though, just like the Bears fate will depend largely on Cutler.

That Week 16 game could be even more competively played than normal. If the Packers have a loss by then and some players recovering from injury, then I think the Bears have a chance. If the Packers are chasing a perfect record then I think they don't.

Week 16 is probably the most likely Bears loss in the schedule. There are plenty of winnable games to come, and the Bears just need a record that will let them survive that loss when it comes.

The eagles had both their starting CB's out of the game when they played last season and Cutler had a nice game. Lets see what happens against their Corners this season. I am guessing people will be a lot less enthusiastic about this Bears squad come Tuesday. Cutler will show his true colors in this one.

Elmhurst, are you one of those "luck" guys? The Bears mashed the Eagles last year, and it was the Eagles who came in hyped up with Vickmania, and coming off some huge victory. It was a significant season-making win against a strong, surging opponent.

The game was 14-3 at the first quarter and 31-13 going into the fourth quarter. Lovie prevent-defensed the Game to the 31-26 final. The Eagles were never really in it.

Of course the Eagles had injuries. Who doesn't? If the Bears lose Monday it won't be because Philly DIDN'T have two injured CBs. I just don't understand fans who count losses and discounting wins. They must be the ones who in August come up with the 3-13 season predictions.

So if Cutler throws 2-3 picks and the Eagles win, you will discount the fact that in this game the Eagles had a good secondary that may have taken advantage of poor decisions/throws by Cutler...vs the inferior cornerbacks he got to attack last season??? I'm just telling you that I think it's going to be a LOT tougher for Cutler this go-round. I think you will see a far different performance from Cutler and a decidedly less effective one I suspect.

This really is a huge game for both teams. If Chicago wins it'll go a long way to helping secure a playoff berth, and if they lose they'll be behind Atlanta, Detroit, Philly, and tied with Dallas. Also if Philly is in the middle of a really hot 8 game win streak or something similar and makes a run at the division they'll be behind New York by a couple games also. Conversely, Philly needs to win this game to show that they are as dangerous as people think they are. 3-5 is dangerously close to being out of the playoff race altogether.

Right now, the Bears have tiebreakers vs. the Falcons & Buccaneers, and a win tonight over the Eagles would certainly help the Bears' chances of making the NFC Playoffs as the second & final wildcard in the NFC North.

I'm kinda nervous about this game tonight, especially when you consider the last time the Bears were on the ESPN showcase in Detroit. 8 false start penalties from the much-maligned offensive line and issues with crowd noise at Ford Field. That's all you need to know.

What a Bears-y fucking game that was! Man, this team just drives you nuts, but what a game. It's so big to have Bennett back. God, what a difference a professional wide receiver makes. Hats off to the line. They weren't just not bad; dare I say they were... good? Forte with some terrible turnovers at inopportune times, but he also did a lot of good. Defense was pretty good, and a big ups to Peppers for getting back into the game and making big plays. Briggs and Urlacher lived up to their rep.

Cutler was very, very good for much of the game, but he was pig-shit bad for a small section; always hard to figure. Got a big Bears buzz going. Team played hard as fuck tonight, and it was great to see.
