It's kinda funny that lipid is going to log on a few hours of MW3 this weekend... because come next Tuesday we won't see him again for at least a month. ;) Viva Skyrim.

By no means is this a shot at my man lipid, but if his internet dating journies work out, this section is really gonna die down.

Mud, Skyrim comes out this Friday...so MW3 is going to take a hit really quick...

...I'm planning on doing it this way...Skyrim right after work...play that a few hours, then jump over to MW3 when some of the bored cretins get logged on...figure this will give me quality time with each...

...but Ugie is right...real life may start getting in the way...and I'm alright with that. 8)

I don't really see the benefit in the Elite multiplayer thingy.

I'm not sure why people are angry... it's a wonderful map pack... just costs too much.

I guess it all depends on how many hours you play multiplayer. I was hoping that the story length would have increased, but it's still a damn good story and action. But even if that's not your thing, the amount of maps, their variety, and quality, easily justify the price to me for the amount of entertainment hours it provides.

I had no idea IMU prefers BF over CoD.

Weird.

Activision is like the domestic car industry when it comes to their COD series. They know people are going to buy it no matter what, so they stop innovating and stop caring about quality. People will buy it on recognition alone.

I also agree that brand quality and meeting expectations are highly overrated. Companies should know better than to use what has worked in the past.

The long history of video games show that you can't keep remaking the same game with a different title if you want to stay on top.

It has worked pretty well for Madden. Maybe COD can become the exclusive only first person shooter made.

I found this in an comment section when looking up the Elite map stuff...ironically, the author was Umessedup71.

How to make Call of Duty game in 12 easy steps:
Step 1: Use an outdated game engine from 2005

Step 2: Insert crappy storyline about Russians and nuclear weapons

Step 3: Design a character that 12 year olds will perceive as "cool" and refer to him only by his mysterious call sign.

Step 4: Kill said character in a scripted event 2/3 way through the campaign.

Step 5: Kill key bad guy in another scripted event involving slow motion

Step 6: Add a halfbaked multiplayer mode. Make sure that there are plenty of glitches and imbalances and good places to camp.

Step 7: Profit.

Step 8: Release overpriced map pack.

Step 9: Profit some more.

Step 10: Add a subscription service for detailed stats, clan support, etc. and other features that would normally be free in many other games.

Step 11: Profit some more.

Step 12: Repeat steps 1-12 until series has been sufficiently milked dry and Bobby Kotick has enough money to fill an Olympic size swimming pool.

Super Mario Bros, Legend of Zelda, Madden, Final Fantasy, and Grand Theft Auto all agree that this shit blows.

I don't understand the non-stop complaining about camping. I'm not one to stay in one place and snipe non-stop, but it's pretty dumb to just run around like an idiot. If I find a good place, i'll stay there for a couple minutes to rack up a nice killstreak. If this was a real war, the jackass running around trying to knife people would be dead pretty quick.

So I see "map pack" is going to be the buzz word the Battlefield lovers use in this thread...

If I went strictly from the things said on this board, I'd lean toward MW3. IMU's description of Battlefield makes it sound complicated. I like to just pick up a game and have fun(g). Don't really feel like having to study or anything.

I'm gonna check out a few more reviews before I trade in a bunch of games at gamestop and get one of these...

I have BF3 and am getting MW3, both are good for different reasons. If I were you, i'd probably get MW3 with the comments you made,I think you'd enjoy it more.
