Gotta give jurko credit for calling the Bears win over the Eagles. Almost none of the local writers or broadcasters in the Chicagoi area thought the Bears would take this game....except Jurko.

Ditka always picks the Bears. He was the only one to pick them the last Monday nighter of 09 I think when they played the Vikes. Wasn't such a good pick against the Lions though.

...but did jurko pay up on his bet? that's what i really wonder. sports is all fine and good, and sure, the bears are fun... but when i tune into CJH i can't help but wonder "DID ELMHURST STEVE GET WHAT HE'S SUPPOSED TO GET FOR WINNING THAT BET?!?!"

incidentally, what's the big whoop with people caring about who predicted what?! i just heard a caller into les' show bitch that nobody at ESPN picked them (except ditka, evidently) and therefore there's no respect from them and blah blah blah (but if you really want something to bitch about, right after the game the sportscenter coverage was all about michael vick and the eagles loss... hardcore analysis of all things vick, going to his presser right away, and then after a good 5-10 mins of that it's like "oh yeah and the bears played pretty well here's jay cutler" -- evidently that caller doesn't read the trib, as everyone on the back page of the sports section picked the eagLOLs to win, headed by captain daddy mack-neal who predicted a 37-20 eagLOLs victory. wasn't he saying during the week that he was fixin'ta make tonight's game his "lock of the year?"

in the end, who really cares? the dream team is obviously the bigger national story, especially when they've got a lightning rod @ QB and all that... jay cutler's only mentioned when they talk about "tapping out" of a game or when they want to highlight some bad mechanics. after the ~10+ mins of hardcore vick coverage, when the ESPN sportscenter panel (stuart scott, trent dilfer, steve young) got to cutler the loathsome trent dilfer actually gave jay some props... he pointed out that jay's rapport with earl bennett leads to "trust throws" aka throws that are made before the receiver is looking/cutting/breaking/open because the QB has faith in the WR to get open. that's slick.... but then trent went and said something like "jay was just about the best jay he can be... he's taking steps at becoming a better... jay"

so basically, yeah, trent dilfer inferred that jay sucks, and therefore what you got is just about the best stuff you're going to get from a sucky quarterback who will always be jay.... damn. since this is an elmhurst steve/CJH thread i think i'mma have to DBOTW mr. dilfer so people know that this shaved head turd is just that.

Jurko did correctly predict the Iggles kicking to the 10 after their first half FG.

If it happened on TAS, and Elmhurst Steve is the only one to hear it, did it really happen?

I find it odd that Trent Dilfer has a hard time actually spotting a QB that really does suck.

He called the Bears winless without Cutler as well. He was right on.
