Who claimed he was trying to teach anybody anything? Truth be told, however, it's my belief all three of us do a pretty solid job in that department. I don't "impose" my parenting on anybody... just enjoy talking about some of the elements involved in being a fatha. GK, lighten up.... you take things way too seriously.

If you don't like Man Talk, you're not going to be happy with the direction our show is headed. I think all of us have decided there simply is way too much analysis of sports out there and we aim to set ourselves apart by talking about other guy issues. Most guys on sports stations know sports pretty well, but very few have the ability to be engaging or funny. That's the trump card the Afternoon Saloon holds and we intend to keep playing it, especially when there is very little happening in the sporting world.

Yeah, Stu-Gotz got the best of me after a Northwestern-Purdue game in November of 1996 in Evanston. I hate to make an excuse, but let me make an excuse... I was hammmmmmerrrrrred. Bill Peterson and I (mostly me... Billy was my "cocktail table") did a fifth of scotch during the second half, and that followed a most spirited tailgate, which began long before Brian Gowens put the ball in the air against Jim Colletto's Boilermakers. I'd be up for a rematch, SG. When you wanna brawl? This time, no wrastlin'. Ultimate fighting championship rules apply. Say when and I'm there to dismantle your smack-talking ass. :-)

I enjoy the 6 o'clock hour and wish it was on earlier since usually I only hear from 3-5:30. Dan Patrick beats every topic to death before MJH anyways.

Did this brawl start out of an actual argument or just drunken idiocy?

This rematch should be performed with the contestants wearing speedos in a kiddie pool full of jello.

D. McNeil,

I don't think you need to defend yourself about anything. Whether it's about parenting or if you got your ass kicked after a football game.

You, J. Jurkovic and H. Teinowitz are hilarious when you talk about issues other than sports. How many times can one listen to an argument about Cub / White Stocking?... etc. I love the idea that the show is going to be more H. Stern-like and discuss personal issues about your lives.

Simply by listening to you on the radio, most of us can tell that all three of you are very, very good fathas. Tell G. Kuratz to CRAM IT!

As for Stu-Gotz.... Could we get a tale of the tape (height / weight) on D. McNeil & Stu-Gotz? I met D. McNeil at a remote and he is certainly a hunk, however, something tells me Stu-Gotz had the advantage.

Stu-Gotz, nobody here thinks your tough because you pinned D. McNeil after a day a drinking. You can go ahead and cram it too!

Linda S.

I can't blame you for drinking heavily around Jim Colletto's Boilermakers.

Mac, I'm sure STU was completely sober during said slapfest.
The claim of drunkeness only applies when you wake up next to a Linda S. or a reasonable facsimile thereof.

It's funny to hear Harry talk about raising his kids. Harry just wants to be at a bar and not deal with this crap.

You should call those Harry parenting sessions.

More unplugged please. I like it. Not to make a comparison, because I also like B and B, but it is much better radio than going off on meathead callers. As a single fatha, I like hearing other fatha stories. You guys are all about 10 years older than me and what you's guyz talk about prepares me for when my own boys are teenagers, which will be when I'm your age. I also like the older movie talk; Mac, you and I have a lot of similar favorite movies. Keep it up!

Linda S., I wish I knew what you looked like. You *write* like you're kind of hot.

I'd like to hear the full story of the match. Why were you and Stu together in the first place? What led up to the match? Did it make it onto TV?

I always figured that Mac, Stu, Slapshot and Gridiron were friends from the old days who still hang out together occasionally. Am I correct?

She has a "drunken sorority girl" vibe going. I'd probably have a chance with her if she actually is hot and actually isn't a male.

As an avid listener of the competition, I assure you, there isn't too much analysis of sports...at least not from 2-6 anyways.

I actually liked the talk about Harry's kids and that stupid no t.v. for a week assignment. What is there really to talk about now, there's so many baseball games that mean nothing right now, the NFL draft is 2 weeks away, the Bulls, you are waiting for the playoffs. They could do a whole show about their lives and I don't think anybody would care, at least today. When you get to May, playoffs are going on and you've seen both baseball teams after a month, so you know more about what to talk about them. Today, there just isn't big news going on.

This is a pretty polarizing move. I know plenty of people who want more sports talk from the guys, but I don't mind hearing stuff more off the beaten path. I think if its limited, like it is now, you have a better chance of appeasing both groups.

I wonder if by "all of us" he meant Justin Craig?

I like some of the other stuff that is talked about in the 6:00 hour but I listen because of the sports.

What does Harry know about "guy issues"? That could the only thing he knows less about than sports.

So true. My father and I started attending Purdue games during Colletto's heyday. I witnessed countless blown leads, inept play calling, and one of the many ties during his tenure. The best part was listening to post game with Larry Clisby, where Colletto inevitably began after every loss with the standard "Well Larry this group just didn't get it done."

Then snap, 9-3 the first year with his players under Tiller.
