I went with the Beatles, but that's like asking "Who do you like more, your mom or your dad?"

Why are we using the poll function for this?

We know where Mac stands here. If touring life is the standard by which bands are judged, then shouldn't the Grateful Dead be Mac's favorite band ?

Where's the King Crimson option?

Abbey Road is very good. Don't like much of anything else by either band.

I love me some King Crimson. Adrian Belew is one of the most under-rated muscians out there.

Maybe, but only if your Dad comes home drunk and hits you. Give me the Beatles.

The Beatles by a slim margin.
By a wide margin if you include their solo work.

I haven't liked any Stones stuff from the last 20 years, since Harlem Shuffle.

Yup, that's him.

By the way, my vote in the poll is for this guy:

My mother bought me one of those for my fourth birthday...and everybody's happy for me.

As opposed to all of the hits the Beatles have churned out in the last 20 years

This may seem like a cop out on the vote, but for me, a lot of my tastes are seasonal. For example, I consider The Dead a summertime band. I rarely listen to my Dead CDs in the winter. Once we start getting roll down the window weather, I listen to them almost daily. Same thing with most of my blues collection. And while I won’t necessarily turn the dial when The Stones come on during the winter, I do consider them one of my summertime favorites. Beatles music, on the other hand, is a good stay in and get stoned collection for me.

The difference for me is that the Beatles are an easy listen and there are certainly some Stones songs that can grate at a person. I went to the Beatles.

I'll take Stones. I never have been a Beatles fan, and while I do not enjoy everything they have done, I enjoy the Stones a bit more.

Mick drives me nuts and Keith Richards is the most overrated guitar player in the history of earth.

I'm a big U2 fan, but have no problem giving that title to The Edge.

at least the Edge pioneered the use wicked delay effects as part of his regular arsenal.

Also a huge U2 fan, and I would agree that he isn't that great of a guitar player, technically speaking. However, I'm not sure how many people talk about him when they rate guitar players, so I'm not sure if overrated is the right word.

That being said, I think he is one of the most creative and innovative guitar players there is.

Kieth has "satisfaction" going for him.
Probably the most recognizable guitar riff in the history of Rock.

But both are in the team picture for over rated clap clap...

Other notables on that list...

12. Kurt Cobain
17. Jack White

Judging from this, I'm gonna say that #24 for The Edge is far from "overrated".
