...for reference, the only game with an equal score this year on the platform is Portal 2...yeah, if that's the quality I can expect with this, tomorrow is going to be the start of something beautiful.

This game is crazy good...was dead set on focusing strictly on the main quest for my first playthrough, but it's just too hard to not give in to temptation and do some of the side quests...

...oh, and dragon fight, for the win!

I'm buying a new PS3/XBox after work and this game with a case of beer. Can't wait.

I think I'm going to get pulled over for drunk driving today. I got 3 hours sleep last night due to Skyrim. Damn you and your missions Jarl!

3 days in...some thoughts....

Combat really isn't all that improved...still mostly hack away with the attack button...finishing moves are a nice touch but I'm still not sure what triggers them...

Gathering plants is a lot nicer now because when you take something, it visually shows on screen...no longer will you see a cluster of flowers and wonder if you've already harvested them...

Leveling up is much simpler, but it doesn't feel dumbed down at all...the previous system was much too complex for the sake of how you improved your health, magika and stamina...now you simply pick which of those three to upgrade with each level...also, the perk system from Fallout 3 has been greatly improved upon...

The map is nice...also like the fact that when you've cleared out a dungeon, it says so on the map...I used to avoid discovering places in Oblivion until I was actually ready to explore them simply so I had a way of knowing if I had already cleared something out...no longer necessary...

The voice acting is improved...still hearing some voices more than a few times but nothing as repetitive as in Oblivion...haven't ran into the same voice actor talking to themselves yet, so that's a plus....

Not a fan of the transit system in Skyrim...so far I've purchased two horse and both times I've Geronimo'd the horse within five minutes...slopes that look like you should be able to go down are steeper than they appear and roads are really hard to come by...

Oh, and dragons are awesome.

What complexities from the last game are you missing? If I remember correctly, there were skills (which are still in the game) and then there were the governing skills over them (strength, personality, luck, etc) that seemed to have some impact on those skills but I never really understood what they were. I like this way much better.

I understand how they affected Stamina and Fatigue...they made that pretty clear when you leveled up...what I didn't understand was how the governing attributes impacted the skills...they simply said they affected them but never stated how.

I'm really liking it, but I'm such a noob compared to you guys. I (gulp) never played Oblivion. I'm focusing on spells over weapons, but I really don't have a good sense on how to use the ingredients or how to learn new spells. I suppose I need to go somewhere to do this, but I have no idea.

So...when you guys gonna be ready for MW3?
I still haven't played online....and I can't wait to get ridiculed by a 13 year old.

Are those the ones on the scrolls? I thought they were one-and-done spells.

Is all you have to do is read the Tome, and then you get the spell?

This game would've been much more attractive a buy to me when I was unemployed ... now, I don't trust myself to buy it and either be able to really enjoy it or keep a job ... lousy God ......

+100000 Don. I'll start playing after the kid and wife go to bed, and I'll look up and it's 3:00 AM... and I have to get up in 3 hours. Then I'm sleep walking through the next day. I think a cocaine habit would have less impact on my life, although I'm sure it would be a little more expensive.

But you can't get a bump off of playing the Xbox, so that's a plus on the cocaine side.*


(* - I'm guessing .... I have no interest in anything like that .... who wants to breathe-in a solid, anyway?)

Frosty rails or Elder Scrolls?

I'm shocked that my question that had absolutely nothing to do with what platform a person is playing the game on is met with a response that brings up the platform.

Whenever you like...I will be available all of tonight...even if I"m playing Skyrim, shoot me an invite and I"ll switch over...

...tomorrow is reserved for a trip down memory lane (Halo)...Wednesday might work..Thursday too.
