Not sure why my post was deleted considering I've been doing this for years but I'll try again.

Bears defense will come up big and the offense will do just enough.

Bears win 17-13

i'm going to be @ the game tomorrow, so i'm hoping for entertainment.

also, i have a huge matchup in my flagship fantasy league where my #2-in-points-yet-still-5-and-5 team is fighting for its playoff chances (only the top-4 make it) against another .500 team, and i've got to choose from the bears DEF and the cowboys DEF (vs washington)

i started the bears DEF last week because I was going to the game and wanted that much more rooting interest, and when I saw dallas roll buffalo 44-7 i was all "oh fucking shit" cuz i was up against the #1 team in the league and i needed every point i could get. dallas ended up with 19 points.... and the bears ended up with 36.76 points for me (no doubt the #1 week for a fantasy DEF all season, altho i think baltimore had a 37.00 point game one week)....... and i still lost ~130-120.

so now this week i've got the same dilemma heading into this chargers game... and dallas has washington, who is total shit, but this thing wreeks of a trap game. i'm not 100% sold on the bears D being a proper juggernaught who is going to kick the living shit out of philip rivers (i need fire and pashin) and i wonder if i'd be starting the bears' D because of last week more than going with the matchups and saying "man, even tho it's a trap game dallas IS playing washington" --- cuz like, as much as i could see some well-timed DJ moore INTs and maybe even a defensive TD, i could equally see philip rivers throwing 3 TDs en route to a 31-28 type game.... who knows? if this chargers line gives rivers time, the bears' D is designed to allow yardage and whatnot... and by proxy, the defense is going to give up some points... it's just if/when they can get the turnovers combined with the hester return/field-position advantage and their offense outdoing your ability to consistently punch in 7 versus the defense.

i'm going to go and say bears 34 chargers 31. i think the offense is going to wake up and be responsible for 4 TDs, at least one of them will be because of a turnover or excellent field position set up by hester/special-teams. they'll have 2-3 nice long sustained drives cuz they're not going to be as shit as they were from the 2nd quarter on last week... are they?

Agreed. Peppers and the linebackers are gonna have a field day against that banged up OLine.

2/3 of the world is covered by water. The other 1/3 is NOT covered by Peanut Tillman.

Gotta give credit to Martz, called a nice game.

Those middle screens on the last drive were some great calls.

So I mean the Cutler shit is done now, right? Not because of this game or anything, but just overall. He is somehow more palatable this year, so people are in full on stupid mode?

Cutler threw for 2 tds, ran for one and saved one on the interception, maybe the biggest play of the game.

I thought earlier in the year that Cutler hadn't progressed, well it appears that he has made some great strides since earlier in the season.

The Bears may not lose the rest of the way.

Forte knocked him out of bounds.

Ture but Cutler's hustle made it possible. The running game wasn't the same without Chris Williams. That may become a problem.

Probably, but it won't be on Xmas Day.

You said last Monday was a trap game for green bay and then said they'd lose today in the GBP thread. The fact that you're pretty sure of an Xmas Day win I'm taking as a good sign.

You said the Bears would go 2-4 over the last 6 games. I'm taking your taking Frank Coztansza's opinion as a good sign for a Green Bay win as a good sign for a Bears' win (ad infinitum).

IF GB loses before then I doubt it. If GB is undefeated at that point that Bears game is going to be GREAT. I still like the Bears chances to play spoiler. In some ways it may workout for the Bears for GB to go into the playoffs with the pressure of a perfect season.

I fully expect the Bears to have to go to Lambeau for the Divisional or Championship game. And I fully expect them to go in there, punch the Packers right in the mouth, and end Green Bay's season 8)

Anyway you slice it Green Bay is a better team and should win the game. It's possible that an upset happens, but it's more likely the Bears lose.
