Yeah, but he didnt play in the super bowl

Im more thinking of a situation where a team got by without a key player leading up to the playoffs to have that player comeback and perform well.

I think Big Ben had a broken thumb and still led the 2005 Steelers to a title.

not a qb but when TO came back in the super bowl. Jerry rice came back from an ACL in the playoffs I thought but then he broke his knee cap in the first game back.

The "someone has made a recent post" function doesn't always work.

T.O. is a good one.

He was awesome in that Super Bowl. If Chunky Soup didnt choke his ass off that would have gone down as one of the greatest performances ever considering the injury.

I don't think I said anything after Brady, Rodgers, or Manning got injured, but I could be wrong. I know I did not go on to a Patriots, GB, or Colts message board and laugh. Bad form FF.

Best thing in this thread is good dolphin wears a beret and reads poetry.

If Big Rapist can play with a broken thumb than of course Cutler can. Suck it up and help the team.

Silly girl. He wrote "in life" which was a favorite ditka phrase when he decided he was coach/philosopher. It was during that time that he threw down "man in the mirror" on us. North was amazed at the insight.

Skinny jeans, turtle neck , independent coffee house reading poetry night...all you need is a tuft of facial hair, dark rimmed glasses, and maybe a set of bongos.

Great stuff with the medical expert on Mac and Meat right now. It is the part of the thumb I thought it was when they said 6-8 weeks. He can not play with it regardless of pain tolerance. Try throwing a ball with no thumb. It is also an area with poor blood flow and thus it needs to be pinned together to heal properly.

I can't fucking believe this. Martz finally pulls his head out of his ass, the offense looks pretty good and Cutler is now out for basically the rest of the year.

Amazing.

It would seem that Major Suckage purchased the Cubs' goat and will now encamp outside the stadium for the rest of the year .... Occupy Solider Field.

Wow, is that better or worse than if it was the scaphoid?

This from wikipedia (yeah wikipedia; if anyone has better information that contradicts it, please post it):

The long-term outcome after surgical treatment appears to be similar, whether the CRPP or the ORIF approach is used. Specifically, the overall strength of the affected hand is typically diminished, and post-traumatic osteoarthritis tends to develop in almost all cases. The degree of weakness and the severity of osteoarthritis does however appear to correlate with the quality of reduction of the fracture. Therefore, the goal of treatment of Bennett's fracture should be to achieve the most precise reduction possible, whether by the CRPP or the ORIF approach.[6]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bennett's_fracture

Is it really confirmed that this is the true injury? Hard to imagine what else it would be though, if the immediate diagnosis involved surgery.
