This fucking erratic talent cost us Cutler. The reason he has NOT seen the field this year is because of his tendency to be overmatched in a jump ball situation. Last two previous years,a lot of balls thrown his way were picked because he was either falling down, bad route running, losing one_on_ones. Of course he also made an amazing adjustment on his TD catch. After that pick, you can see Cutler yelling at him: "That can't happen" referring to his slipping on a route causing the INT.

Johnny Knox wants to talk to Jay Cutler face to face, not over the phone or via text message.

The Bears receiver genuinely feels bad about slipping on a route during Sunday's win over the Chargers. The end result was a Cutler interception, and the quarterback suffered a broken thumb trying to prevent a touchdown following the pick.

"I do feel bad about how it turned out in the end," Knox said. "It wasn't necessarily my fault, but beyond that, it's football. I do wish I could take that play back."

Cutler is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks after undergoing surgery Wednesday in Vail, Colo.

"I haven't had a chance to talk to him yet," Knox said. "When I do tell him, I want to tell him in person."

Bears coach Lovie Smith said there was no need for Knox to express remorse.

"There's no apology necessary," he said. "That's a part of football. He didn't do anything on purpose. It had very little to do with anything."

While I agree, this is what you get when you have small WR's, guys that can be stepped in front of have the ball taken away.

This is why Jay has been even more impressive this year. Throwing to players that dont go up and get it! Roy, Devin, Knox....and even big Kellen Davis......Bennett is the only one!

This is why Cutler was an all pro with Brandon Marshall.

Cutler will get the ball to the WR in a Hurry! Quick enough for a DB not to be able to readjust, jump up, etc. having an aggressive, big WR for Cutler can make a huge difference.

Look at the Laurent Robinson in Dallas, comes out of nowhere, but was a big body. Look at all the Dallas WR's! I think Austin Miles is the small guy at 6'2", SD, Buffalo, etc etc. Always exceptions, but we are missing out on some TD's!

And Sanzenbacher, Hester and Williams have combined for 14 drops. All three are in the YTD NFC top-10 drop list; Sanzenbacher #2 with a bullet!

Hub said the injury happened earlier.

Said Cutler was shaking the hand on the sideline way before the Knox slip
