So what moves will the Bulls be making in this short time?

Stephen A Smith (I wish he still posted here) said last week that McGrady will be signing with the Bulls.

Top 20 free agents according to Chris Bernucca ( )
note: (R) indicates restricted free agent.
Nene
DAVID WEST
TYSON CHANDLER
MARC GASOL(R)
JEFF GREEN(R)
JASON RICHARDSON
JAMAL CRAWFORD
NICK YOUNG (R)
TAYSHAUN PRINCE
SHANE BATTIER
CARON BUTLER
KRIS HUMPHRIES
J.J. BAREA
AARON AFFLALO(R)
DEANDRE JORDAN (R)
MARCUS THORNTON (R)
LUC RICHARD MBAH A MOUTE
SAMUEL DALEMBERT
ANDREI KIRILENKO
YI JIANLIAN

FIVE MORE TO CONSIDER: Glen Davis, Carl Landry, Michael Redd, Aaron Brooks (R), Rodney Stuckey (R).

http://sheridanhoops.com/2011/10/06/nba ... /#more-715

I am curious how the "dump a player...no charge" thing is going to affect free agency. There may be some nice pieces that can be picked up on the cheap. Key is I believe it will have to be on the cheap. Haven't thought much about salary cap stuff for the Bulls, but a certain player with a big 1 on his back is about to get PAID. Whatever they do will have to be low budget.

I would like for them to find a sucker for Carlos Boozer. There will be a lot of great bargains in the trade and free agent market.

What makes you think there will be a lot of great bargains? I would think it would be even harder to make a good trade with the short amount of time?

You are talking one hell of a sucker to trade Boozer. Option B seems to be out as well.

For those asking, Tribune already has reported this: Zero chance #Bulls use amnesty on Carlos Boozer this season.

In terms of coaching roster moves, some of you may remember that in July, Adrian Griffin stepped away from the game to be with family and church. I remember a CSN article that indicated that he will be back, so I don't believe we had any change in Your Chicago Bull Coaching Staff (YCBCS). If that is true, the Chicagobulls.com needs to update the ole website. They have finally put players/coaches back up on the website (premature...I hope not). Adrian Griffin ain't on it.

I bring YCBCS for the 2011-2012 season...for now.

HEAD COACH
Tom Thibodeau (College - Salem State)

ASSISTANT COACH(ES)
Ron Adams (College - Fresno Pacific, Fresno State)
Rick Brunson (College - Temple)
Andy Greer (College - SUNY Brockport)
Ed Pinckney (College - Villanova)

ASSISTANT COACH/ADVANCE SCOUT
Mike Wilhelm (College - Southampton)

STRENGTH-AND-CONDITIONING COACH
Erik Helland (College - Wisconsin-Eau Claire)

ATHLETIC TRAINER
Fred Tedeschi (College - University of the Pacific)

I heard talks weeks ago that teams could save the amnesty clause to use whenever they want during the term of this CBA. Why not keep Boozer this year, and then waive him after the season so the Bulls can make a big run at Dwight Howard? Hopefully that rumor about saving the amnesty clause is true.

Caron Butler would look very good in red and black.

Do you think he can handle the 2? If not, you got two pretty expensive 3's and one of them has to be on the bench.

I think Butler can easily transition to the two, since he has experience doing so in Washington. Plus it gives the Bulls that big guard option that they need. And he'd be another guy in addition to Derrik who can actually create his own shot. It makes the bench a little deeper too, as you'd have Bogans, Korver, and Brewer who could all interchangeably sub at the 2 or 3 as needed.

Because a lot of teams will be looking to shed salaries looking toward the future. You also have the amnesty thing that will make some big name free agents cheaper. Of course amnesty is also likely to help teams like Miami and NY land big name players that had bad contracts.

In fact, I'm about to make the Butler deal on NBA2K11 right now.

I agree with OKC on Caron. I think he could easily play the two here. Jamal Crawford would be awesome in a Vinnie Johnson role here, and I think he realizes by now that's where his place is in the league. J-Rich would suffice as a small time move if they don't want to mix things up too much. They NEED to add a 2 guard though.

Wouldn't you need to package Boozer in for a trade for Howard? Possibly along with Deng and/or Noah?

Any idea what kinda deal Butler would get? Do the Bulls have the financial ability to make such a deal?

Butler will get more than mid level exception. He's the LeBron stopper too.

No he's not. Lebron just isn't driven competitively like Kobe and Jordan. Nobody on Earth can stop him during a January game against a mid-seed though.

Really would of liked the Bulls to dump Boozer. I got a bad feeling that he will be out of shape pretty bad. Not on the Kemp level, but similar. I think he is happy he got paid and doesn't give a fuck now.

They'll try to trade him but if all fails in the next year they'll dump him. They'll still be responsible for his salary though. Something tells me Jerry won't be a fan of that.

That doesn't really detract from his point. Plenty of smart businessmen are assholes.
