I think the whole need for culture change goes way beyond Lynch. IMO Lynch was in over his head. He is not a head coach and let people and situations dictate how he was going to lead the program rather than him being the real leader. He only got the job because of the tough situation the program was in when Hep died. He provided some continuity in a tough time. Wilson seems to be the exact opposite of Lynch in most was so in my thinking that can only be good for the program.

But who really knows, it is Indiana. It is going to take a lot of work and some lucky breaks along the way to get to be a respected program.

Ultimately, I think it will come down to Wilson learning how to interact with people as a head coach. The general word seemed to be that he was kind of miserable to be around even before the season started and they lost some coaches because of it. That works for an assistant but not when you are the boss. He doesn't have to be a players coach but I think he'll adjust and morale will improve. I think when those players left midseason it was the start of that.

He's a good football mind and I would assume he's smart enough to know how to fix things.

It's funny. If you could combine Wilson's knowledge and Hope's likability you'd have a really solid coach.

Weren't you the one to make the first shot in this thread? That's the problem on here. It's not like this forum is filled with Big Ten fans that constantly want to make fun of NIU. It's just when an NIU fan pops in and starts making comments that the natural "Wait a minute, a guy from a MAC school is mocking me" switch goes off and then you and spanky get all offended that someone dare say something. It's just the feeling I get from watching you interact with me and the Illinois posters in the past about any slight towards NIU even when it's only a response to an NIU fan starting things. In case you haven't noticed, most people, including myself, have basically ignored NIU this year. I only made that minor slight towards NIU after NIU_Huskie once again made another stupid comment.

That's it. You basically said the only reason why Purdue won and made a bowl is because the Big Ten wanted them to be bowl eligible. Don't play now like you weren't saying something bad.

No, it's my "I'm not going to argue whether or not it was a shot or not" because I think it was and you don't.

If I posted that NIU only won because the refs saved them you'd be going crazy like you do.

I said it would be hard to find, not impossible. Most of my slights are in response to someone else trying to dog NIU, such as my response in this thread.

I will say I never really gave NIU a second thought and would generally root for them until you gave me a healthy hatred for all things Huskie. Well done!

Brick... It strikes me as bizarre you would tell someone what they like and why they like it... You basically proved my point for me... I know Im happier as a free agent college football fan who roots for the huskies on the side than someone rooting for a mediocre big ten program like purdue...

The Huskies would probably beat the Boilermakers this year. I hope Purdue goes to the Music City Bowl... That is if they get a phone call...

All I know is that you initially claimed that your experience rooting for NIU is better than mine rooting for Purdue. Now, you admitted that you have to subsidize the experience by picking other teams to root for.

I don't think the Huskies would beat Purdue this year but things happen. Purdue will not be going to the Music City Bowl. Maybe you have them confused with one of the other random teams you root for in order to make your NIU fandom experience complete?
