Strange move. He was the only experienced depth at LB on the team. The Bears have been very lucky this year with no injuries to Urlacher, Briggs or Roach

There is a thing called IR. Something doesn't sound right with this story. Either they are waiving an injured player which would require some kind of settlement or they are trying to open a roster spot, hope no one claims him, avoid IR and then bring him back when healthy.
