I went into a gamestop for the first time in a long time and I was excited to see a "Game Informer" on the table.

Is Nintendo Power still around? I loved that thing so much that I wouldn't throw them away and instead file them away like they were encyclopedias.

Game Pro and EGM were the mags for me back in the day. All I cared about was anything regarding Street Fighter II, or any cheat codes.

I would sometimes spend an hour in Walgreen's reading those two mags. I was always looking to see what baseball and basketball games were out.

Regarding Nintendo Power, there are torrent sites where you can download PDF versions of back issues. I downloaded one from July of 1988 that took me WAY back. Took me back to my old tattered mag with pages missing because I literally took the magazine with me everywhere I went.

I was a long time GamePro subscriber. Loved it. I stopped getting it a few years back, because I didn't have any of the current gen systems at the time. I actually became a journalist because I wanted to work there. Sad to see this news.

BTW, I think Nintendo Power is still around.

Game Informer is a great magazine...got it when I signed up for the Gamestop rewards thing or whatever it's called a year ago..the magazine is worth the price.

Yeah I was surprised how decent it is, been getting it for a while.
