Former Mike North/WSCR-AM/CSN producer Jen Patterson! This week, the longtime Chicago media personality, who now lives in Arizona, announced her engagement to her boyfriend, former Chicago Blackhawks player, Nick Boynton.

North will be calling her soon, to either borrow some money or get them to invest in some scam he has.

Double congrats are in order for Jen Jen. Not only is she getting married, but she's now a step mommy of two kids.

1. Knowing Mike North paid off for her in the end. Got her a hockey player to marry. Without knowing North this doesn't happen. That can't be disputed.

2. Now that she's marrying him, it was worth getting fired over him.

3. When they get in an arguement she's gonna use the "I got fired for you" and "You ruined my broadcasting career" on him. You know it.

4. He's close to being out of the NHL. Seems like a journeymen with no more than 2 years left, tops, from what I gather. It's cool to be married to a hockey player. It's not cool once he's out and he's just a dirty ex hockey player. If she's with him a year after he's out of the NHL, then I'll say this marriage will last forever.

Good for her. She got her bag of "gold" after she was jettisoned from show after show.

Persistence pays off in her case. Although I wonder how many trains got plowed into her bun cake after Blackhawks games. Probably more than a few times

Hey, is Boynton in the NHL right now? I looked up his career stats and it only goes to last year. No numbers for this year. Is he in the minors some where?

Once retired, he'll still want the drugs, booze, gambling and women without the 500k a year. Seriously, is Boynton in the minors or is he done with hocey? Any of you hockey people know?

He is out of the NHL. Hawks waived him midway through last year, he finished out the year with the Flyers, wasn't signed by anyone. I suppose someone could sign him, but why? He sucked.

For whatever it's worth, Boynton is diabetic, so I don't imagine he does a lot of hard living. Though if he does, it would explain why he was such a shit sandwich with the Hawks last year.
