Drew Brees on pace to set single season passing record with relative ease. Leading the Saints back to the playoffs.

Aaron Rodgers also on pace to break single season passing record. Absolutely dominating every game he has played. Packers possible perfect season.

Tim Tebow seemingly horrible at playing QB, but the results are there. Took Broncos from top 5 pick in the draft to the playoffs (at the moment).

Peyton Manning didn't play one down of football this year at all. In his absence, the perennial 10-win Colts have been the most pathetic excuse for a football team and could go 0-16.

I think Brees is going to make a serious run at it especially since no one thinks his supporting cast is as good as what Rodgers has.

Rodgers will win it if they go undefeated but I've heard from Packer fans that Flynn is a going to be great too. Therefore, Rodgers isn't that valuable.

Brees doesn't really have a shot. Everyone thinks his supporting cast is as good or better than Green Bay's. Rodgers is the MVP this year. The only question is if it'll be unanimous like Brady last year.

No. Everyone doesn't think that.

If you put Rodgers on the Saints do you think they are undefeated?

Just imagine how great Rodgers would be if he went to Purdue.

Probably would have been worse sitting the bench for his career.

maybe...i love brees but rodgers is better...brees is outstanding but rodgers is the best than brees/brady....rodgers does not have the dome to play in..he plays outdoors so i expect brees to put up more impressive passing numbers.

Obviously the answer is Tim Tebow. Who expected Him to take the Broncos to the Promised Land?

Rodger is so much better than everyone else that this may become an annual thing with Brady getting old and Manning playing without a neck.

Tebow will be in the conversation as long as he has a .857 winning percentage.

Remember when everyone was talking about how Rodgers was having statistically the best season ever?

It's possible that Brees will have better statistics by the end of the season now, except interceptions, though that's at least in part due to many more attempts.

He destroyed a lot of fantasy seasons these past few weeks. Good thing I wasn't in the playoff hunt in any league.

You were too busy trying to stockpile draft picks for next year.

He has fallen off. He still has more TDs and fewer INTs, a better QB rating, and most importantly more wins. It would take two more games like last week and another bad two games for Rodgers for Brees's 16 game body of work to measure up to Rodgers though.

That's right my friend. 9 of the first 40 picks.

Brees is likely going to throw for more yards than anyone in NFL history, with a higher completion percentage, and won't be that far behind in td's. At that point, it pretty much becomes subjective.

Brees will get a lot of credit for wins too though if they win out.

I still think Rodgers wins but Brees will be close.

I thought it was apparent from my post that I already consider Brees close. I just think that Rodgers is the MVP through 14 games. And of course Brees should get credit for all those wins. It's basically his, Rodgers, and Brady's league right now.

15 days ago you said the only question was whether Rodgers was the unanimous choice and you didn't reference anything different so I assumed you still thought he wasn't close.

Glad we agree.

That pretty much was the question two weeks ago. If the Pack were 14-0 right now it wouldn't really be close, although the gap has been lessened enough where it wouldn't be unanimous.

Edit: It's like you said about Andrew Luck. Given enough time, people will always try to talk them out of the sure thing. Since Rodgers was basically assumed the MVP this year since about Week 8, people were trying to find a reason to vote for someone else. This past Sunday gave people a small reason for doubt.

The reason for Rodgers was that he was statistically dominant. That's no longer true.

It's more that Brees has been almost as good the last 8 games as Rodgers was the first 8 games.
