The overwhelming majority of his work was in A. This prospect will take at least a year, maybe more.

Fuck! I don't want KW at the helm of a rebuilding. Can't draft, sells short. We'll be left with Dunn and Rios as the STARS in the next few years.

That sounds like the report going into last year

All the current (before the trade )Blue Jays prospects lists had him top 5 in the system. Most had him #2

His upside is higher than that.

dolphin, the one thing in all these reports is that he is real close to the majors. This is a great move

Thats a great program when it costs $1 Mill.

Peavy will cost $17 M next year? but after that Peavy will be gone and can be a cub. lol

The deal means one thing...Rebuilding and a headache of a 2012 season for rookie White Sox manager Robin Ventura and a certain Ranger on The SCORE & the TOYOTA Chicago White Sox Radio Network after a lot of losses.

Stop perpetuating this myth.

Ranger has worse thoughts than most of his callers

I know these were rankings from before last year and that he would be a top prospect going into next season. Still, he will not jump from 20 innings of AA to MLB this year.

I see Santos' present and future as being pretty bright.

by the way, our rebuilding is being headed by a guy who has now traded away two young pieces that could have been a cornerstone of the rebuilding process.

That Hudson trade should have sunk KW as a GM

In fairness to Kenny he really hasn't gotten it wrong many times when trading prospects. Of course he could always get a little more but overall he sells high.

Well that's where we differ on it. I dont hold Santos real high. I think he'll be a serviceable closer for a few years then fade away.

Kenny signs him to deal, then trades him. Doesnt make sense. Unless they know something. Maybe they saw something in between the contract signing and this?

But that signing was late season wasnt it?

I think Molina will be in the rotation by July

Similar to McCarthy. Kenny knew (I did too) that he wasn't good. Problem is he usually doesn't get as much as he could in these cases. It's still better than the Cubs waiting until a guy has proven he sucks or destroying their value in the media before trading them. That was the Hendry way of doing things.

While I agree, McCarthy isn't the best example. He turned that into John Danks, and while Danks hasn't taken a big step forward as many thought he would, he's still been a LOT better (and healthier) than Brandon McCarthy.

Cooper has never been high on Santos. In 2010 he said he didn't see him every being a closer. In 2011 it took them forever to put him in the position he had clearly won. Now that Cooper has a strong hand, I think he helped this move to occur. This would put us in a switch of positions with you agreeing with Cooper.

I heard Spiegs say age 28 for Sergio Santos when news of this trade was announced.

SHARK, you're not being very SHARK-like lately.

Duh! The flagship of the White Sox Radio Network at around 11:45a.

When Santos cant locate that sinker hes useless and teams arent biting on it like they did at first. Sox sold high.

Remember with Santos, you have low mileage on the arm at 28. I expect him to start hitting his peak in two years and be a good closer well into his 30s.

I respect gd and JORR's thoughts on the White Sox. They disagree on this one. Will be interesting to see which one is right.

Cooper is fine. He's a decent pitching coach.

I just think he's over loved which is an epidemic with pitching coaches who have had one good year.

Not saying he's only had one good year, but thats all it takes to get the rep

Kevin Goldstein on B&B. Says Molina is at best a #4 starter in the majors.

The scouting on this guy is a little unorthodox given his history.

He doesnt have a plus pitch supposedly.

We'll see.

If hes striking all those guys out without a plus pitch, he might be the greatest pitcher of all-time.

Honestly, I know nothing about Nestor Molina. I like Molinas who catch. Nestor sounds like the pseudonym of someone who lives with his parents and thinks he is a vampire.

Santos is a guy I see as a person who is still learning his craft, which means we have not seen his peak.

I would rather have a young starting pitcher with a high ceiling than a closer with a proven floor.
