A full year of conditioning and weightlifting will make all of these doubts about Oden look insane.

Not to mention a full year to recover from his injury. This guy will be a star--very quickly.

I agree. I think the doubts about this guy are misplaced; he'd be the #1 no matter what in my mind, were it not for the fact that I feel similarly about Durant.

I will never complain about anything NBA ever again if the Bulls manage to get the 1 or 2 pick.

From today's Daily Herald:
If a tie remains after tonight’s games, the draft spots will be settled by coin flip. The Blazers host Golden State tonight, and Minnesota faces Memphis at home.
It’s also possible the Bulls could move up to the fifth pick if the Knicks lose and Seattle beats Dallas. In that case, the Sonics would end up tied with New York, as well as possibly Portland and Minnesota.
Of course, the Bulls could also move into one of the top three picks with some luck at the May 22 draft lottery.

****

Dallas isn't losing tonight. I believe they plan on using their starting lineup tonght. Only hope would be keeping the minutes in the low/mid 20's.

I think the Bobcats will lay down to the Knicks. I hope I'm wrong, just my gut feeling.

Yeah, I think their starting lineup last night finished playing a pickup game at the local Y right beforehand...kinda seemed a bit unfair since Suns still had Nash, Stoudemire, Barbosa et al in the game with 2:00 to go, with nothing to play for.

Hoping the Blazers lay down tonight to allow GS to clinch. There's no way they can blow this now.... :?

All the Oden comparisons have missed the one that I thought was most obvious, Patrick Ewing.

He still will be missing the heart and post moves. You can't just compare the way their faces look

I can if I want to but I didn't. They are not similar facially. Patrick looks like the missing link while Oden has a look of nobility about him.

Getting back to basketball, Oden's offensive game is better than Ewing's when he came out of college. Oden is a shade behind Ewing defensively at the same point in their careers, but just a shade. I stand by my statement although I will further clarify it by saying that I meant at the time each was coming out of college.

Interesting note on all of this is that the 5th worst team and 6th worst team has won more 1st picks than the top 2 teams who have had the best odds. Could you just imagine for aminute how awesome that would be if the Bulls somehow got at least the second pick?
