If Bigfan can arrange to post them, the FCC's enforcement division released complaints received about the North show through the Freedom of Information Act. A number were dismissed on First Amendment grounds, but they're still interesting. Amongst the highlights:
From January 9, 2006: "Mike North, not once, but TWICE said the following...'speaking of sucking on giant donkey penis.' Quite frankly the comment shocked me and made me physically ill that a radio personality, on a show that teenage kids sometimes listen too, would say something this vulgar on the air."
From February 1, 2006: "Instead of giving sports related news they went into religious hate/bigotry against the people of the Jewish and Christian ffaiths. They went into detailed biogted and derogatory remarks about Moses and his life?...They also profane religion by regularly yelling Oh God!"
From October 26, 2006: "This is not the first time while scanning the radio channels I've heard this particular DJ use profanity. On this date, the DJ was talking about mediocre talented sports figures who make lots of money. Twice he referred to a person "bitching" about this or that. About 5 minutes later, he referred to another person as an "ass wipe."
From January 7, 2006: A father of two children wrote to complain about both MVP and SCR. "On both stations, advertisements have become virtually all about strip clubs, how to make your private parts larger, make your sexual pleasure last longer, or satisfy your partner better by increasing your performance in the bedroom for up to eight hours. I can't explain these matters to children ages 6 and 8 and don't want to."
From December 1, 2005 (complaint about November 30 show): "At that time the segment being broadcast was called Mike's Rants which involved Mike North basically ranting and yelling about nonsensical topics provided by listeners calling in. I was shocked to hear Mike North state 'Why call it ejaculate when you can call it come?' He repeated the statement twice."
From December 19, 2005: Complaint because North was "talking about seaman [sic] covered brownies and sex."
From January 19, 2005: Complaint because Mike called Barbara Boxer a "'c-blank-blank-t.' Not too hard to figure out what he meant to say. most of us can spell."
From February 16, 2005: "I would like to register my complaint with WSCR radio in Chicago. This morning, at approximately 8:35, the announcer, Mike North, was talking about the daughter of a recent US Senate candidate from Illinois, and the revelation that she is gay. The following dialogue - as accurately as I can recall it - ensued between Mike North and his news person (whose name I didn't catch):
North: That's right. She's a rug-muncher!
News person: There isn't some other term you could use?
North: How about, 'carpet muncher?'
News person: I was thinking, 'lesbian.'
North: 'Trim eater?'
From the tone of his voice, he found the whole thing very funny."
