All along, the league office had allowed the Hornets to negotiate the Chris Paul trade without interference, sources said. And then, this.

This is very telling.

I guess Cuban is the one leading the charge for the veto.

So basically, NBA owners are like every whiny fantasy football owner? Were there a bunch of mean emails & message board posts to NO? #veto

In the old days, Stern would have just made sure Scola and Martin failed their physicals. He's losing his touch.

I'm told there is a school of thought in informed circles that Stern vetoed C.Paul trade because a D.Howard-to-LA trade was coming up next.

Would Orlando really been dumb enough to trade Howard for Bynum and Artest?

You gotta think Rachel Nichols would do some freaky things in the bedroom.

Damn right. Even tho she looks offensively ugly ~66% of the time, those other 33% compel me to believe that the force of my ejaculation would likely cause her head to explode. I can't quite put my finger on what it is about her that I find so sporadically-tantalizing-and-attractive, but whatever it is.... it's prolly illegal in 38 states (including puerto rico)

Howard says he wants to be traded to the Nets. So it would appear to be a bad trade for the Lakers.

And its not Artest.... its Metta World Peace.

Way to hose 3 teams. NO wasn't getting a better deal for CP3 and will now lose him for nothing along with him not showing up, LA now has an emotionally loopy player who also might not show up, and it seems Houston was counting on this to rebuild their team. Seems like a lot of destruction just to keep Khloe's husband in LA.

It looked like a reasonable deal, and both the Hornets & Rockets were going to get good players in return for Chris Paul before a handful of small-market owners cried foul and the deal got nixed. Let's not forget the Hornets are a mess anyway. The NBA still owns that franchise down in New Orleans...

According to ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, Chris Paul is mulling just that, Bagels.

Once got turned down by a girl who looked like a younger Rachel Nichols.

This picture is fairly close.

Now I wonder what sort of unspeakability I missed out on.

Which will lead nowhere. Owners well within their rights to veto trade.

The primary work on deal has been between Lakers and Hornets sides, sources say. Rockets still get Gasol, still move same parts. Odom to NO.

I think Speeps may be referring to the fact that the NBA actually owns the Hornets right now. Therefore, a guy like Cuban, or Gilbert, or any owner, technically owns 1/29th of NOH at the moment.

So 15 teams would have to agree on a veto for this not to go through, si?

Which sucks because no owner would want to see another competing team get stronger.
