Oh, so you mean that Obama tried to find a way out of the deadline and extend the war but he was unable to do so? In that case, isn't Bush actually more responsible for the troops being gone by the end of the year?

I'll be honest. I don't like a shoutout like this after all the "McCain is a war monger stuff, Obama will bring em all home 16 months in".

Now THAT is a bias I will fully admit to.

Technically the war ended last year. All combat troops were pulled out. You may have missed it but it was all over the television. Once he was sworn into office President Obama spoke with his Joint Chiefs of Staff (like he said he would) and they suggested pulling the combat troops out in 19 months (that's what happened). Since that time we've played a support role to the Iraqi military. There is a fear by many that without us there in a support role there could be a possible reversal of the progress that has been made. Al-Maliki (Iraqi Prime Minister) and our military leaders had been trying to work out a deal to keep a number of American troops there in a support role for a little longer. We wanted the troops there to have diplomatic immunity. Problem is they could get it passed through parliament. The way the agreement was made Obama didn't need congressional approval to keep additional troops there but the Iraqi Prime Minister did. That's why I disagreed with you and KI. Obama didn't deserve a shout out for doing something he was working not to do and you were wrong about him not being able to change the agreement and basically everything else.

Possibly the greatest President of all time. I'm with ya Ivan!

Wouldn't go that far. But he's done a good job with what he was given. Looking forward to term #2. Still a lot of work to do...

None taken. My opinions are my own. I rarely try to change anyone's opinion on anything around here. Except the greatness that is the Laurence Holmes Show.

Who are you kidding? I seem to recall a thread, not long ago, when somebody wrote a post saying that Liberals were as "pissed off" at Obama as conservatives were. I think your reply was: "Yes we are."

Yes we are. But being pissed off isn't the same as the side that you and others take of the man can't get out of bed in the morning without one of you talking about how he fucked that up too.

Does being "pissed off" mean that you do not believe Obama is doing a good job? After all, I would think that if you thought he was doing a good job, you would not be "pissed off."

So, am I to conclude that I have Obama derangement syndrome, while you are simply being objective and conducting a detached and fair assessment of this presidency?

I hate it when people seem to have an obsession about one person that borders on insanity.

Nice signature by the way.

Ahhhh I can always count on the right wing of this board to all swarm. Nice if you kids to join us.

Now. All you newbies to the board. Say something about how much Obama sucks. Then rip on me. Then go back to whatever you were doing before. There. See? Wasn't that easy? You too can be a CSFMB Republican!

Isn't that the stance you took with Bush and will whenever a republican again gets elected?

So you know the answer to that question. Sadly though it doesn't fit your narrative so you have to ask me again then jump on me for my answer. Not gonna bite.

Sorry Score, must have missed your post.

Baby Mac, chill dude. It was a pretty simple and civil question and answer from me to Ivan and even StoneRoses post wasnt that inflammotory. "Emperor with no clothes" is a frequently used political term.

Just remember, if a few things break differently, thats Rod B. in the White House.
