They blew that game in just about every facet.

They couldn't rebound tonight. NJ dominated, and got a lot of 2nd chance opportunites.

Deng, Gordon, and Hinrch just never got going, and they just seemed out of sync the entire night.

Jason Kidd didn't hit his first shot until the 4th quarter, and he was the best player on the floor (M.Moore may have outdone him, but it's close).

Disappointing as I really do not want to play Miami. I don't think their overall team is that great, but Shaq and Wade (if he's even 75%) may be good enough to win a series.

It sucks. We got the 3rd best reccord and have the toughest path. Christ. Buehrle takes the sting away a little.

Instead of having Washington and Toronto. We get the Heat and Pistons in the first two rounds.

if you lose against miami, this season and the signing of ben wallace can not be considered a success. maybe gordon and deng improved, but a first round loss will put you in the same place as last year in a year when you were supposed to get better. to make it worse cleveland is most likely gonna go the eastern conference finals which widens the gap between them and the bulls.

Would beating the Wizards or whoever the 7th seed was make you feel any better?

The fact is that for the season to be a success, we had to beat a good team. Now is our chance. If we can't beat a hobbled Miami than we probably wouldn't have beaten Toronto.

The Bulls are good enough to compete with anyone now(except the Western Conference)

The Bulls should just fold as a franchise, especially with the Knicks winning tonight too.

winning tonight, taking the 2 seed, making it past the first round would make me feel better. i'd settle for one person playing well in the biggest game of the year.

Can't wait to hear all the dopes blame this on Skiles, ie the usual "he's not a point-B to-point-C coach" nonsense.

Paxson won't get a totally free pass, but I'm sure Skiles will be blamed for not having a single big man worth a damn on this team, rookie Tyrus Thomas excepted.

It's funny how this one loss to NJ could potentially change the outlook of the team for next season. If they win this game, they more than likely can get through Round 1 (even vs NJ), but now with Miami waiting, I wonder how Paxson will evaulate a 1st round playoff loss.

This team had plenty of chances this year to secure victory 50 - it wasn't like they just lost it here. I can think of a couple off the top of my head...the loss to Phoenix when Barbosa nails the winner at the buzzer, the loss a couple weeks back to Cleveland when they stopped guarding LeBron late, losing to Memphis, Webbers tip at the buzzer....

This team had its chances....now it will get to prove itself on the road...

Agreed with the sentiment that this season is a complete failure if they don't make it out of the first round. They played Miami tough last year and got better on paper before the season started, and had several chances to get better within the season and failed to do so. If they bow out early, it's on Paxson. He screwed the pooch on this one. Skiles has been solid but not spectacular. Getting a bunch of young guys to buy into his system isn't the easiest thing to do, but it seems to be working.

And where was Deng with the 18 footer last night?

How have the Bulls lost 11 straight games in New Jersey? What in God's name is it about the Meadowlands that is so insurmountable? Is it the roar of the 35% capacity crowd? Are free throws being deflected by the ghost of Ken Daneyko? Do the coaches get approached before games by Johnny Numbers and his paisans who politely ask the Bulls to tank this game or else bad things happen? Something doesn't compute here.

it's because Deng + Gordon can't defend athletic/slashing wingmen.

Take the Knicks pick and draft Corey Brewer. Then, trade Deng and/or Gordon for a big like Jermaine O'Neill or Pau Gasòl

To get one of those guys, you're going to have to give up the Knicks pick.

I don't believe you would have to for Gasol... I just worry about how the contracts would match up for the salary cap

if they're going to get a maxed out player, they'll have to include Hinrich in the deal or Noce in a sign and trade...unless they can figure out a way to include the Knicks in a 3 way deal that sends Wallace to New York.
Fact is, they are losing a big expiring deal with PJ without getting anything in return for it.

Yeah, but Zeke can't be that dumb, can he?
Maybe if Oden or Durant goes to Memphis, they can do a three way sending Wallace to NY, NY send Marbury to Memphis, Memphis sends Gasol to Bulls with spare parts thrown in to make the numbers work.

Yeah really. Is it too much to ask for one guy to play well?
