What template is that? Those two games were drastically different. Obviously being +3 in the turnover battle and having Tom Brady wins you almost every single game. And most teams don't have the defensive talent to do what the Bears did to Tebow for 55 minutes.

Jerry Angelo on Tim Tebow: The lead to Sports Illustrated's cover story about Tebow last week was the clincher. In it, Jerry Angelo, the general manager of the Chicago Bears Football Club, which dates to the founding of the National Football League in 1920, not only said that, in his professional wisdom, "60 percent of evaluating quarterbacks is based on intangibles," but also that, in the case of Tebow's 7-1 record as a starter this season, "I believe that there is some divine intervention associated with what's taking place."

And Tebow will have an entire off season to work on his mechanics and becoming a better pocket passer. Not going to say he's going to turn into Tom Brady but he should be better next year. All this talk about him being the worst qb ever to put on a pair of cleats should hopefully be put to bed.

Were you carrying a similiar torch for Michael Vick when the exact same things were being said about him?

It WAS but there were a ton of similiarities

Poloarizing, Left handed running QB who was COMPLETELY DOMINANT in college and had success in the NFL largely by running.

Was Vick ever referred to as the worst QB ever to play the game? I mustve missed that.

No he wasn't. He was better in his first two years than Tebow has been but he didn't receive 1/10th the criticism.

Nobody other than Terrance MacArthur Boers said Tebow is the worst ever.

Vick faced similar criticisms when he first came into the league.

He looks to run too much.
He isn't accurate enough.
He can't read defenses.

Not even close to the same level that criticism that Tebow has received. The questions about Vick weren't will he ever be good because he already was.It was will he ever get to the next level. With Tebow its can he even be a serviceable qb in the pros. I think he's proven he can be.

When Michael Vick was a rookie, there were the same questions about whether he could be an NFL QB.

Whitey doesn't always have it harder.

Yeah I said it.

Would you want him to be the QB for your team?

You think his style of play is sustainable?

He's still a very bad passer who can run very well. Serviceable? Ok. Not good though.

Is he better than Vince Young?

Depends on who my choices are as far as if Id want him playing qb on my team. He's a bottom tier qb sure. There area lot of " experts " out there who said he'd never be even that before they ever saw him play a down based on his mechanics, etc. I think thats been proven to be a wrong assumption. His style of play sustainable? probably not but let the guy have a full off season with mini camps, ota's , learning to read defenses better, getting coached up by professionals to see if he can ever be a better pocket passer than he is now. Maybe he won't ever be better than he is now but its way too early to judge that. Better than Vince Young? well he's certainly mentally tougher but so is my 2 yr old but can't definitively say that one is better than the other.

Tim is all about the Jesus.

No Jesus in the Old Testament. Plus that's the Jewish part. Can't have that.

Yeah I said it.

Anyone who said Vick couldn't even be a starting QB was easily in the minority. I remember almost everyone agreeing he would be good, it was just a question of how good. Like rogue said, the vast majority of critics say Tebow can't even be a starter in this league. Nobody was really saying that in Vick's rookie year unless they were racist and/or wanted to say it for shock value.

Phil McCracken accepted Timothy Richard Tebow as his personal savior 2 weeks ago.

Thanks Phil!

Wow! Nice job Tebow. Way to step up when your team needed you most.
Now, they might not make the playoffs.
