Provided a $10,000 scholarship to 79 incoming college freshmen. He also threw in a lap top and some school supplies for good measure. Braylon Edwards is playing for $ 1 million this year. Not too shabby.

This is part of some promise he made to Cleveland high school students that graduated and met some kind of criteria he set 4 years ago isn't it? This is a very cool gesture for a guy that normally comes off as a total ass. The fact that he didn't just throw down some money and leave but rather made these kids set goals 4 or so years ago and then see them through in order to get the reward is the best part.

If he had 4 years to plan, I hope he set this up in a tax-advantaged manner.

The kids had to maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher as well as perform 15 hours of community service. Of the 100 kids
the offer was made to 79 achieved it. Very cool of him to stand by his word and give these kids a boost.

Pfft. That's only like $127 per kid. Cheapskate.
