After making good progress in 2010 by losing 25 lbs, I stayed pretty much even in 2011, in fact
I probably put on 5 over the holidays. I will weigh myself tonight at the gym and post it tomorrow.
I know we have done this in the past and we have seen some positive results. Seems like when you
have to try to be honest with others and report how you are doing your friends can shame you into
a better performance. I am pretty sure I am sitting at around 235 right now and I want to get under
210 before the golf season starts around April.

My plan consists of using my apt complex workout facility in the morning and run approximately 1hr
before work. After work I will go to my health club and run 1 more hour. After that if I can still stand
I will do some weight lifting. I have started eating better this week as well. Anyone who would like to
post about their 2012 Commitment to Excellence or any other Resolution you have made please join in.
I apologize if a thread like this has been started, I have not been anywhere near the board since the
holidays.

Edit -- initial weigh in number was 233 last night at the gym.

I am thinking about 5 days a week. Hopefully running 50 miles a week to start. Depends on how
my 35 yr old body holds up.

Who are you planning on murdering, T-Bone? Because that training program seems like someone is preparing to go on the lam.

Bought that for Christmas. Buy some frozen blueberries, frozen strawberries, orange juice, and bananas and put them all in and blend until done. If it's too thick, add more orange juice. We even have started to add in some chocolate shake mix like Slimfast to make it a little more substantial.

The ninja cuts through all of that with ease.

Put it in the fridge to keep it fresh or not have to clean it.

Tastes just like a smoothie place in about 3 minutes. Modify the frozen fruit for whatever you like.

No shit. The one hour run alone would end my day.

Anyone I golf with. We will see how long I can stick it out. I have all the time in the world so no reason not to give it
a shot. I actually have a new female friend that is a good distance runner so I would like to maybe somewhat keep
up with her.

Note to self: Do not play golf with T-bone in the year 2012.

More of a metaphor for being able to destroy the competition score wise. Not like I am looking to
leave bodies in sand traps and water hazards.

I plan on losing 5lbs of fat and then gaining 10lbs of muscle so I can fight at 155.

That sounds like a solid fighting weight Doug. Good luck.

I'm easily 8-10lbs heavier since the GF moved in during the summer and I started eating like a normal human.

T-Bone, let's race. My best half marathon last year was 1:43 and change. Hoping to best that in 2012.

You have a head start on me training wise but I saw the progress you made and that is what made me think I
could do something similar. If i ran a half marathon I am guessing I would come in around 2:10 or maybe a
little less. I accept your challenge. I will sign up for one this spring and hope to break 2 hours.

My first mile (not to be confused with Second Mile) last March was my first time running in 11 years, so you can do it. I learned that it's all mental. No matter how many times I ran, the first few miles always sucked. Get through that, and you're golden. Busse Woods is a great place to run after work. Can't wait for the weather to change for the better. I'm sure I will do a few Chicago races in the fall. We can wager then.

Ok. I'll post on my progress from time to time in this thread. running on the treadmill is a different animal than
outside but it will get the cardio up and I don't have to freeze my ass off.

I tried running on a treadmill a couple weeks ago. It kills my legs. Like Singletary, I can't do it.

Always aggressive, I have increased my 2011 goal height of 6'6" to 6'8" for 2012, as I am now the ideal weight for an aging man of that stature.

No joke, if you have a set of dumb bells at home and about 30 minutes to spare, this is a pretty decent workout.
