Finally our bowl game is here! NIU has had a 36-day layoff between the MAC Championship game and today's GoDaddy Bowl. I'm interested to see how the long layoff affects both teams. Seen quite a few bowl games so far where teams have looked sluggish on offense. We'll be without a couple of key defensive linemen, one of which is first-team all-MAC DE Sean Progar, but hopefully what looked like an improving defense towards the end of the season holds true tonight.

Chandler Harnish needs 58 yards passing and 118 yards rushing to become the first player to pass for 3,000 and rush for 1,500 in a season.

Both teams look pretty similar offensively and Arkansas State QB Ryan Aplin is a similar dual-threat. Could make for a high-scoring game.

Also, look who's joined the festivities down in Mobile, AL.

Too bad Harnish didn't get the record. He easily eclipsed the passing mark of 3,000 but after the ankle injury that forced him to leave the game for a while they really never let him run the ball again. Still a fine season with 4,500+ yards of offense.

Back-to-back 11-win seasons. MAC finishes tied for top bowl record at 4-1.
