I know a guy who look for people who do this, after hearing some of his stories, I would never do this.

I like to start the car and let it warm up in the garage with the doors closed and no way for any air to get in or out and then just sit in it while it idles for hours at a time.

I know enough to lock the doors of my car before leaving it running. Take the clicker off the keyring(very important) and if your guy wants to bust out a window he can go right ahead. Done this for many years and the car is still there every time. Maybe I don't have a car worth stealing or criminal element doesn't get up that early in the morning to steal.
